The Daily recap of Shane’s Auction Picks, the 24th of January

Auction Quick Recap

I made it home this evening, Lots of blowing and drifting snow but the main roads were clear. There were patches of black ice starting to form, so be careful out there. Lots of shoveling to do tomorrow now that I’m home. I’m thinking about using my pressure washer and melting it all with water. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Yesterday’s Average 4L Chip Sales as listed on was $2,441.33   Great short patterned dot cc.   You get a lot of Cs for the price. It’s all about being memorable and this one certainly is

2 days Left  Not bad acronym letters.  And you’ll get it cheap because of the U. 13 years old

397 USD Heads Up Display, good for a lot of cool tech things. The last H is just a bonus.  No bidders. $12 and 12 years old.  You deserve one

? no price, I may have been right about registering u names. It didn’t go to closeouts or if it did it was picked up right away. So it’s at least a $19 sale.  Nice and round.  Minus that whole zero at the front thing

Can’t find it. Travis send me that data feed 🙂  Not real valuable but can probably get it for $12.  No bidders.  This is what people search for

104 USD, wow I’m surprised it made it to $100 but awesome. These names will sell all day long at a low end retail price. I’m thinking anywhere from $299 to $999. Sure it could sell for more maybe thousands in some lottery type sale and if you wait long enough, but I’ve found that there are certain names that will sell a lot quicker in this range.

Your target audience is different, you’re most likely going to sell this name to someone doing a small IM project and wants the EMD, or to a developer or random person that wants to highlight Christmas light displays. They will never pay $5k plus because who would pay that to make a fun Christmas light site? The point is, there are all kinds of people looking to build websites or start a project and pricing your names accordingly will increase sales and give these people decent names to build on.

These have to be priced with a BIN price on a platform where the customer can easily click and pay for the name. You’re looking for the low end  impulse buy and the only way to get that it with a BIN price on a platform that will give it some exposure. The person coming to Godaddy to register a name for their Christmas light project isn’t going to negotiate for the name. They’re going to buy a name that’s in their budget and that has the least amount of hassle possible.

I sell more names on Godaddy Premium listings than anywhere else. I’ll sell names that I’ve never had an inquiry anywhere else. If I’m going to let a name drop, I can change the price to $50 or $100 and see what happens. The best part is it’s easy for everyone, the customer gets the name right away, and I don’t have to do anything. The name is automatically transferred into the other account and a few days later I get the proceeds in my paypal. A lot easier than trying to negotiate a sale for $500 and go through escrow and the transfer. I’m talking specifically about these lower end retail names only here and not other types of assets.  Thought I could get this cheap but the bids came in.   Good stock site name

711 USD What all women are looking for in a relationship.  I actually made that up. I have no idea what women want

430 USD No one knows what women want, Women don’t know what women want. This is a really good name. It has a good feel to it.  The I at the end doesn’t bring the price down much because it ends in ZI. Pinyin baby pinyin

1325 USD Finally! these damn vowels have found a place and are cool   Ugly ugly letters.  So that means its worth a fortune

2,505 USD I could pull X Who is out of that if really pressed. Really really pressed.    Looks like this one could hit $7K.  I’m a bidder

5,655 USD  Nice pattern  The 77 just can’t overcome the 4.  Still a nice name

Not sure what happened, has a BIN of 15K…. which seems a bit on the high end.  Might as well keep this party rolling

660 USD     The 8s make these a little more desirable

120 USD,

226 USD,  are some of the best LLLL.nets on the board today

226 USD   I would think this would go for over $200 right now.  We’ll see

Not if the Chinese are partying I guess.  One bid at $12 at press time

Unsold The double Cs turn me on….sorry. I’ll see myself out

Unsold   Getting a great bid but that’s because we all know the city…….and the volcano

Herculaneum… Didn’t Sell  The double vowel in the middle  By now you know I love them.  I’ve never sold them but I stayed in a Holiday Inn Express and now I’m an expert in them.
