Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Sunday March 18th, 2018

Escrow.com

There are a lot of people learning a hard lesson.  As much as I loved watching everyone make money in crypto I knew that it had to fail.  When a coin is tied to nothing but the desire to own there will be the eventual point where there aren’t enough people with that desire to keep thing moving up.  If it were tied to some economic results that would be different. And it would be called stock.

I do think bitcoin and ether will survive as a store of value but I am very confident that most of the other alt coins will move to 10% of the value of their peak. My opinions only. I did quite well and I was lucky/smart enough to pull out most at peak and put it into Netflix options and catch a 40% run.  Pretty sure I documented it on twitter and here.  I also sold all my crypto the second I saw Google was done with them.  Google and Apple run the world and when they say their done, I’m done too.

The other fun over the weekend has been watching the NCAA tournament.  All countries have their sporting events and NCAA basketball is definitely one our biggest.  Everyone in my family fills out their bracket each year.  For the first time ever my daughter understands it and even knows some of the teams. And this year her statistics class put together a contest to use data to pick the games.  I’m not yet convinced she’s got something  special but I will say that after the first two rounds she is in the top 6000 in the ESPN pool and still has NC as the potential winner.  Not sure how many entrants but I think i was 7 million or more.  She also had Virginia only winning one round so she wasn’t out much with Virginia losing.  I have Duke winning it all so if they do I should still win the pool .  Which like most pools is an insignificant amount but the bragging rights are worth gold.  Here are today’s names.    Click on them for current price

Quote of the Day:  “Don’t be trapped by dogma—which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition”  -Steve Jobs

  1. I personally don’t think crypto is dead (yet) and could bounce back in a year or two. However, it’s obvious to me that so many projects are severely overvalued and that things have needed to come back to reality. I think in the end there will only be like 10-20 projects that survive and thrive out of the 1,500+ out there. There’s just so much crap with no real purpose or use case, and people don’t even use bitcoin as a currency and now claim it’s a “store of value”, which it doesn’t even do well. I’d much rather have something like gold or land where the relative value of it isn’t likely to change by 50% in the next few months!
I personally took everything out a week ago, and obviously I wish I had done it sooner, but I’m still up 2.5x what I initially invested. I might jump back in to a few projects I see real potential in, but only when the prices of them drop to a fraction of what they are now.

  2. Crypto now = WTF ???
    .
I cashed some out and bought a couple pretty good domains already and feel safer w/domains than crypto. Still have some left in Wallets. I WILL be making a move today.
    .
Selling all and buying an 80′ tv and all new kitchen appliances,
Selling all and putting it into some domain development.
Selling all and sitting on 1 coin. Which coin though? They are all sucking now.
So my theme today is at least consolidating all 10 or so for sure into something.
Most likely Tether since that is the most stable coin I’ve watched. Doesn’t really go up or down, always steady at $1.00. Just until I figure out what to ultimately do with it.
    .
NCAA – Maybe I will sell all crypto and put it on our Loyola Ramblers.
Our Chicago boys are looking awesome! Sweet 16 now. 🙂
    .
Noise.com – pretty awesome brand at 48k right now. Interesting to see where this ends up.
    .
You should buy FeetFetish.com and sell your Nike’s on there! 🙂

  3. I also got out of crypto and feel more comfortable doing domains.

PS: It doesn’t seem noise.com has reached reserve right now, but it sure must be close…

  4. I wouldn’t put it into tether man. Check out this video about cryptocurrency here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5KXHgh2rTTw

It’s obvious biased and some parts are awful, and they cover bitconnect a lot which was an obvious ponzi scheme, but they go into tether midway through the video too. If holding anything I’d recommend EOS whos platform goes live in June and will be superior to ethereums…but I’d honestly feel 1000% better about domain names right now.

  5. Shane, I thought you were joking about FANG stock. Just looked it up.
    Looks like THE tech superstock,
    Facebook,
    Amazon,
    Netflix,
    Google
    Thx for the tip.
    .
Tom, I am at the 16 minute mark of that video you posted and I am glad you shared that. Had no idea Tether was so vulnerable after Bitfinex F-up. I always thought it was backed 100% by the USD. I will not be buying any Tether now. Appreciate it.
    .
I disagree with you on the EOS though. I had a bunch invested in EOS and have no real faith in them since they have not created anything yet. I know it is suppose to replace Ether in June, July but at this point I havent seen anything from them except their phenomenal way of generating the most money ever into their ICO. They got me. But I am out. No faith in them at all. That Brock Pierce is the smoothest talker ever. Had me convinced but either way, whoever the winners are here, I still agree with your ending statement. I too feel 1000% safer w/domain names as opposed to crypto.

  6. Regardless of what happens, or if you believe in it or hate it, Crypto domains are still selling.

    1. I think that last a while. There are plenty of applications for crypto. Only a few will make it and everyone thinks its them. I’ll sell them the domain while they try all day

  7. Definitely Josh.
CryptoCorp.com just a couple days ago at NP for $16.5k
    Crypto.club 10k
    CryptoGame.com 85k
    even
    Crypto-cash.com – 8k
    all just this past week.
    .
There is money to be made for sure. I was just venting though because I had a bunch of $hitcoins that have gone down past couple of months.
    .
Of course there are still tons of opportunities out there w/the correct crypto coin Companies.
    .
I know what my problem is though. I am NOT treating my crypto investments as I treat my domaining. I am not as patient and I am not putting the work into crypto as I do into my domaining. That is my bad. My laziness. I feel like the new domainers we see all the time, who enter domaining, they buy 100-500 hand registered domains then get frustrated 6 months after that because no monster sales then want to quit…lol
    .
I took another approach though today. I did consolidate and did some homework plus talked to a crypto guru and found a couple companies I truly believe in, not hyped pump and dump coins but coins that actually have true purpose and just invested in those instead of all my other hyped coins. Now comes the patience… I will give them til 10pm tonight to make my million dollars. 🙂
