Flips
WYTF.com sold for 1,300 USD on 2015-10-15 at NameJet, vs 110 USD on 2014-06-13 at GoDaddy. These days you can count on a few LLLL.com for profitable flips. 12x before commissions in 16 months.
PPKY.com sold for 1,214 USD on 2015-10-14 at 4.CN, vs 212 USD on 2014-12-13 at NameJet. Nearly 6x before commission in under a year.
GMGW.com sold for 1,400 USD on 2015-10-09 at NameJet, vs 500 USD on 2011-06-20 at Sedo.
WPKD.com sold for 956 USD on 2015-10-15 at Flippa, vs 100 USD on 2013-10-19 at GoDaddy.
BII.net sold for 1,680 USD on 2015-10-12 at NameJet, vs 1,106 USD on 2015-03-08 at NameJet. Not huge bucks, but if you picked up a bunch of LLL.net earlier this year, you’d likely be sitting on a decent profit.
Reithose.com sold for 5,627 USD on 2015-10-08 at Sedo, vs 2,493 USD on 2009-12-09 at Sedo. Appears to translate from German as ‘riding breeches’, and a site (screenshot below) has been live for a couple years.
Flops
XUG.com sold for 21,300 USD on 2015-10-15 at NameJet, vs 20,400 USD on 2015-08-23 at NameJet. Looks slightly profitable until you factor in those pesky commissions.
Worse.com sold for 5,500 USD on 2015-10-13 at Sedo, vs 7,003 USD on 2015-01-16 at NameJet. If I remember correctly, the seller had been peddling this domain hard ever since he purchased it earlier this year, and his counter to offers was along the lines of “well, that’s less than I paid”. Unfortunately for him, the price he paid doesn’t equate to what others think the domain is worth.
Contact.me sold for 7,601 USD on 2015-10-15 at NameJet, vs 10,000 USD on 2009-03-24 at Moniker.
Antirvirus.com sold for 205 USD on 2015-10-14 at NameJet, vs 1,110 USD on 2012-10-14 at NameJet. Be sure to check the spelling before you buy….
YTCC.com sold for 1,101 USD on 2015-10-14 at Flippa, vs 1,800 USD on 2015-09-28 at NameJet. Quick flip gone awry, even though the LLLL.com market is on fire.
Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
