Domain Shane’s List of Domains at Auction for Saturday, January 23rd

Escrow.com

Return on Investment.  It’s a term I use now more than I used to.  Because the market is moving so fast that its the only way to measure how and when to invest in a name. The goal of domain name investing is making money.  You can measure it in profit dollars generated or you can measure it in how much money you invested and how much you got in return with that money.

Do you buy 1000 names at $8 reg fee and sell for $15 or do you buy a safer $8K name and sell for $12K?  Those are your opportunities. I don’t claim to say one is better than another but I know which one I feel comfortable with.  And in today’s market its both.  The portfolio now contains big batch purchases and some larger one word dot com investments.  And its paying off.  But you have to find what works for you. But do me a favor, don’t pretend like the person that is doing it the opposite of you is not as smart as you.  Because you may very well be wrong.

PS.  Not one person offered me a domain to buy.  I won’t bite. Give me a shot. I have cash.  Here are today’s names. Click for current prices.

PS:  Good luck to all you East Coasters.  One hell of a storm. Call me if you need me to bring my snow plow across the country and plow you out

C6C.cc   Great short patterned dot cc.   You get a lot of Cs for the price. It’s all about being memorable and this one certainly is

HUDH.com  Not bad acronym letters.  And you’ll get it cheap because of the U. 13 years old

UWeekend.com  No bidders. $12 and 12 years old.  You deserve one

XWHZ.com   Ugly ugly letters.  So that means its worth a fortune

63653.com    Looks like this one could hit $7K.  I’m a bidder

74877.com  The 77 just can’t overcome the 4.  Still a nice name

35014.com  Might as well keep this 5N.com party rolling

  1. You are right Shane, the goal of Domaining is to make money. Period. Everyone has different methods to achieve this end goal. The Economy is not a zero sum game, working smart and doing the legwork will yield good results. Liquity has dramatically improved recently for good Domains, but you still have to make it dead-simple easy for potential buyers to contact you.
