Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday November 17th, 2017

Escrow.com

I’m going to go ahead and call BS on Mike Mann’s appraisal “program” or service.  He’s guessing. Making up numbers as he goes.   And that’s OK because we all do it.  The difference is others aren’t claiming they are better and trying to sell the service. I’ll give an example.  HealingHolidays.com was sold by him for $20,000.   No way on earth would any other person look at that name and say its a $20,000 domain.  I would love to hear the reasoning behind it other than it being a great example of getting the most you can out of a name.  Domains are unique and you might as well try.  But to pretend that someone has the special ability to choose which names should be $20,000 or $200 is just selling snake oil.  Here’s two more

FinTechnology.com

ShantiYogaStudio.com

Which one sold for more.  The upcoming technology of the future or a name with a possible 3 buyers.  Yup, the name that had a very limited group of people that wanted it.  $10,500 for that one vs $5000 for the fintech name.   That alone shows he shoots for the moon and hits the moon every once in a while.  But I’m still unwilling to call him an appraisal star.  Here are today’s domains. Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me Shane, or Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good

  1. In Mike’s defense, he has individually priced hundreds of thousands of names, sold many tens of thousands and scanned millions – over the past 20+ years. We may not always agree with his pricing but we can’t deny his experience.

  2. Braden,

Thank you for pointing that out. I in no way am saying that he isn’t a very good domain investor. He is amazing for getting the prices he gets. I could only hope to get those prices. What I am criticizing is his appraisal program. He is confusing his tenacity on getting his price with his ability to chose what price to try and get.

The other thing that perplexes me is despite the millions of dollars he has made, I hear many stories of him looking for loans and cash infusions. That makes no sense to me for someone as successful as he has been.

    1. Very well said about his appraisal program and stories of him looking for loans. Once he himself posted this year on Facebook that he was outside for a walk and was desperately looking to make some sale for break even, coming back home he found of selling domains amounting around 40K which gave him relief!

If he is still (2017) in critical condition and giving million dollars lesson to others, that doesn’t suit him.

  3. re Mike Mann
For once i agree with you ,he is pumping his domains on social media non stop to show how good he is .
Wonder who are all these ”buyers” for his domains.

    1. I am definitely not accusing him of that. We’re talking more about money management. Of course its easy for you to accuse because you are hiding behind a fake email. Be a stand up person and put your identity behind your statement if you want to be taken seriously

      1. those prices are really crazy. we have to check how many of them are active websites before coming to a conclusion. At that level those have to be end user buys and active websites.
