   I seriously don’t know how you do it? Do you find now that the type of domain has changed from a few years ago when you started that you are spending significantly less time looking through lists? You seriously need to tell the rest of us how you managed to create 80 hour days cause I seriously struggle with just 24!
   .
   As for the auctions .. I personally marked significantly more names both yesterday and today .. but more importantly there has been a significant shift in activity at GD auctions .. both in terms of number of domains with bids .. and much more importantly in terms of number of bids and final price. The following is something I posted in a thread I started about it on NP yesterday:

   “Usually on my days off I manage to snag a few cheap .. and even turn down some really good ones .. it’s almost as if instead of just one heavyweight (like HugeDomains) competing with the rest of us .. that there are now two heavy hitters battling it out for everything barely even leaving any scraps for the rest of us.

   To the point where names of the type/quality I was getting at at $17, $12 or even closeout are hitting three figures .. and domains I’d grab mid-high $xx are hitting $250++ and up.

   While this certainly sucks for auction buyers in the short term .. if it keeps up .. it could mean significantly better wholesale prices in the long term .. which could be either good or bad for domainers depending on the particulars of their portfolio.

   I did notice patterns like this last year .. wish I tracked it better. Before the day even started and most bids began, I did notice it certainly was a big day in terms of number of good names .. maybe that was part of it? Curious if I’m the only one seeing this?”

   The answer to that question was no .. as many others chirped in to say they noticed it as well. Huge Domains has always been kicking around sucking up a bunch of names .. but they were relatively unchecked without another big bot in the room .. I’m thinking now there’s another (Frank/Uni maybe?) and the battle is making for a significant change in dynamic for volume and pricing.
   .
   I was really looking forward to a great day yesterday as it was on my best days in terms of names I kept to buy personally .. but one after one I saw them all go far above the usual price threshold for similar quality domains in the past. In fact .. usually of a few dozen names I’m able to snipe and choose from at least a handful of good domains at closeout .. yesterday I just got one .. and it was the only one that got through.
   .
   I know the market goes through cycles … but if this continues long term it really changes everything on the wholesale level.
   .
   As for the game .. I was up the day/night before working on my domain stuff .. ended up falling asleep in the ads before the half time show … then I woke up with 3 minutes to go .. seemed like a good game for the parts I saw! Missed all the best ads being here in Canada though .. Curious if there were more domains than hashtags being used … and if there were any non-com domains?
