Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday November 13th, 2017

Escrow.com

I am half with Drew Rosener when it comes to NamePros.  There are some amazing people on Namepros. Some people that are very good at domain investing. Even more, some of the hardest working domain investors in the world reside there.  I have met some Indian domain investors that have been able to make twice as much as their monthly income in India by flipping lower value (and some high value)  names.  I respect that as much as anyone making hundreds of thousands.   What gets Drew and where I agree are the guesses.  The people that have no real information and just guess.  For every article that uncovers wrongdoing and fraud,  are 100 others that accuse under the guise of opinion.  I think so and so is doing this or this person should have done that. All lacking any background information because they have zero contact with the parties involved.  Like calling a football game from across the street behind a frosted window.

Again, great things have come from Namepros but a lot of hate and hurt comes from there as well.  There is no way to change this other than to grow thick skin.  Mine’s not thick enough yet but getting thicker every year.  Drew is hoping to get some for Hanukkah.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me Shane, or Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good

  1. Couldn’t understand the reference of Indian domain investors here 🙂
I guess the crusade against Drew is being taken up by some highly skilled, hard working non Indian domainers.

    1. Hernant,

I didn’t mean it in that way. In the last month I have received emails that all happen to be from India that have talked about the success they have been having. Each story mentioned there current job and pay vs what they were making in domaining. I am not suggesting that the forum’s make up or the people, just trying to get across that there are some great people over there that are working hard to make a living. I guess the Indian part wasn’t necessary other than to say that “doing well” in Domain Investing is different things to different people. I apologize if I offended anyone other than the trolls 🙂

      1. No. You didn’t offend or something. Just couldn’t understand the context of Indian domainers and the treatment what Drew is getting at Namepros

    1. I think Shane might have put this list together a little early. Maybe before his marathon knowing he might need some rest time? lol .. There are a couple others at GoDaddy that are gone as well. It happens sometimes .. better to know now before winning the auction, than winning the auction, but only to have it pulled back at the last minute because the original owner renewed.
      .
That being said .. it could also be a typo in the link (not the case here).

      Shane .. check:
      BitBasement
      HomeIntruder
      HangUpAndDrive

  2. “Relativity” .. lol!
    .
It’s not really a race thing … but an location/economy thing. An extra $50 USD per month can go VERY far in some places. So success is relative. Unfortunately $50 for most North American and European investors doesn’t even make a dent in our budget. Imagine how “relatively rich” Drew or Ali would be if they lived in India, or even more so in Thailand or Bangladesh!

  3. .
As for NamePros .. it’s a meeting place for all people .. which means like anywhere else in the world with numbers like that .. you’ll have some great people .. and some not just useless, but even counter productive. I used to have a large music community at the turn of the millennium .. and sometimes you needed insane patience dealing with just an extreme tiny minority of troublemakers. Most of the energy is in trying to stay as fair and objective as you can given the limited number of hours in a day.
    .
Most people are good people … but unfortunately some of those good people are more followers than critical thinkers .. meaning that if person A presents what seems to evidence against person B, they will simply pile on person B without really going through the so called evidence with a fine comb themselves. Then the more people who pile on .. the more it influences others.
    .
The last time around there was a public attack on Drew because of his “OPINION” on what he “THOUGHT” “MIGHT” improve the problems with auctions 90% of the forum attacked him based on complete misunderstanding of the facts and what was even said. I myself got personally attacked because of some of the ideas I was discussing as well.
    .
Unfortunately this is one of the big problems when dealing with online communities. So much gets lost when it’s just text as opposed to actually talking face to face where a simple expression or hand movement subtly or subconsciously can change the entire meaning of a sentence or paragraph. forgotten punctuation can also sometimes make the difference between love and hate! Very often the same sentence or set or words can very legitimately be interpreted in multiple ways depending on context and tone .. Things that are often lost in print .. particularly for those who English is not their first language.
    .
As a former forum owner/admin of a 30k+ member community, that’s why I always write longer and more detailed than the average person and I completely avoid any/all profanity as it can only show confrontation/aggression/frustration (I save my profanity for when I stub my toe or drop dinner on the floor). You’ll also see more “lol’s” and smileys. All in the goal of making things as unconfrontational and much more importantly .. as clear as possible.

    1. Jay-Z has some great quotes. I listen to his raps some times without the music and some of the lines are crazy good. I’m not a big fan of spoken word poetry but Eminem and Jay-Z are brilliant
