Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Thursday April 5th, 2018

Escrow.com

Every once in a while I get a group of names I just don’t like.   Today is one of those days.  There just weren’t any that I truly liked and found myself making more jokes than putting up names.  You can always look though the names at the bottom that have bids and see if there are any that you like. Everyone is different and there very well could be some names that you an flip easily.  I’m just no feeling it.

We taped another Sherpa yesterday with Tess, Drew, Myself and Ammar Kubba.  There’s some good stuff in the show but undoubtedly my favorite part is the conversation for the hours before and after.  I pretty much have to set aside 2 or 3 hours just because the conversation is so good.  Honestly I can’t remember which part we taped and didn’t tape.  One thing I can say is that what Ron Jackson puts out each week with the sales report is great but it’s a sliver of the real action each week.  Most private sales remain exactly that, private.  Even Godaddy which represents millions of dollars of sales aren’t on there.  But it’s all we got and its better than nothing.

One thing that Drew said yesterday (and I can’t remember if it was on the taped section or not) that was great info,  was that he holds long term the top 20% of his portfolio and keeps the rest of the 80% moving.  That’s something I really need to do.  Now I just have to figure out what my top 20% are.  Here are today’s names.    Click on them for current price

Quote of the Day: “In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure…….and then you rape them” –Bill Cosby  ( I made up the second part)

Domain of the Day: PineBush.com   1992 domain.  Don’t see a lot of names that old not get renewed

Namejet and Sedo Names at Auction

BonJour.com   This one is the headliner.  Maybe of the year.  Closes today

Nebi.com   Really nice CVCV up for auction.  109 bidders at $1000.  I expect it to go a lot higher than that

Zosi.com  Not doing quite as well as the CVCV above but still a very nice domain for the category.

Inexplicable.com     I think this one hits reserve and sells.  Most people know the word. Can’t be explained.

SeaviewTours.com   Nice name for a river boat cruise. No bids

 VeniceBroker.com  Sell Venice.  No bids

TotallyTexas.com   Texas has so many “things” its associated with.  Promote them here.  No bids

Swapn.com and Swapm.com   Crypto conversion and exchange names sold as a package.  No bidders at $10

Wager.cc  Great name for crypto gambling.  And you know gambling sites aren’t scared of using lower level TLDs.  No bids at $10

Godaddy Domains That I Like With Multiple Bids

EZSale.com 1997 Birthday.    EZ PZ

HeartScreen.com   Good for use as a marketing name for someone that offers this service or the technology

GeekSpeak.com   People like Geek names.  Never a big fan. 2nd most bids on board so once again I know nothing

88l.net    Can’t get much better than 88.  The dot com would probably bring five figures so this definitely has some value

AirSunshine.com   The website is still up.  Its an existing airline so not sure this one will go through

00b.com   I think it would be a tough brand but the price and all the bids show that I don’t know what I’m talking about

SuperVitality.com  Sounds like something you would hear on the radio.   “Low Testosterone? Get Super Vitality” (please stop use if you get too strong or get an erection for more than 16 hours)

YourDaddy.com   Who’s your Daddy?   Whomever buys this name.  Of course Godaddy values it high

89596.com  Four figures.  After that I just guess

Godaddy Names With One or No Bids

CannabisPure.com   Concentrates rule the market right now with vaping becoming the norm

WeedLotions.com   Site ready to be built of all the best cannabis pain relieving lotions

PartySoup.com  Soup seems to be a popular naming convention

EyeRinse.com   Not a ton of value but I see this as a fun site full of puppies and kittens to clean your eyes of all the scary shit on the net

TrailLog.com  Trail Journals are read by millions.  Get this one for $10 because trailjournals will be a lot more

Dijoo.com  I sold Deejo.com for $5K.  Not that this has much to do with the domain, just wanted to brag a little

TheWhackShack.com   Pretty sure a lot of these lonely domainers with their cats visit here all the time

Ponye.com  If Kanye West bought Pony.  (PawnYay) Actually I like it a lot as a 5L for $12

FiftyRoses.com I really like this name.  Memorable and can be anything

FindABooth.com  If you want to find one just hang out near Andrew Rosener.  Eventually one will show up with a name to sell him

If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good

  1. Shane I see you said you like the FiftyRoses name above. I always kind of worry about number names like this because some people might think it’s 50Roses instead of FiftyRoses and you’ll likely need to clarify which one it is. I remember Tim Ferris saying he had issues with this for his 4 hour work week best selling book from a marketing perspective.

Now I do think FiftyRoses is better than 50Roses but I generally am not a big fan of these names. Have you had success selling these type of names before?

  2. Come on Shane … how could you have missed goatwhacker.com? lol .. That one has to go out to Kim from the first of the relaunched Sherpa Reviews. Or I guess it’s Drew who was going to be the Goat Whacker! lol
    .
I really think you guys should sell the before/after discussions as a premium subscription! With nice weather on the way I’m getting ready to re-listen to all the old ones again from the start as Steamie and I hopefully get back into a routine (snowed again overnight .. might be another week before the big walks). Some gold in there! 🙂
    .
Not sure if you have it over there .. but up here in Canada we have a huge flour brand called Five Roses.

      1. Yup .. but he’s a trooper .. before he was sick with meningitis last year he was the most fit Dachshund you’ll ever meet. We typically average 10km a day in Summer. I’ve actually gained a lot of weight since getting him because I no longer run as I spend more time walking him then I ever used to run.

I’ve got a few picks of him on a little Facebook page I made for him at http://www.SteamieTheHotDog.com

I’m just a bit worried now because he doesn’t seem to want to walk like before. It could be the weather .. it could also be because he gained a lot of weight because of winter/medication combo. Also last year I broke up with my ex so we have split custody .. and she never walks him nearly as much as I do so that is also something I’m worried about this year and going forward.

The most we’ve done in one shot is 15km. I think My mom is about 9km away and we’ve walked back/forth with several hours in between. Once it gets nice out we will regularly do 10km and sometimes a bit more. Even on days I work I’d take him out a couple hours late at night. Monday’s we often went out at 3am just after downloading the lastest Sherpa podcast.

Last Saturday was finally a nice day and we did a 10km. Then it’s been rather cold since .. so it’s hard to judge what’s going on .. if it’s something to be concerned about .. or just the weather.

  3. Shane,
Thanks for the daily lists, even during snowstorms.
Is this where I can get opinions on names? I have AllAmerican.MOM and i’m wondering about renewing it. I liked it thinking a major brand that targets moms might want it for a promotion/marketing initiative. But I haven’t read or heard anything about .mom since I bought it. Maybe it’s too obscure. Anyone have thoughts?
    thanks
    Mike

    1. Mike,

Let it drop. Terrible name. The .Mom extension is bad enough but even AllAmericanMom.com would have no value. Glad you like the list and thanks for reading each day
