DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Thursday, October 1st, 2015

Escrow.com

Who would you like to see on a panel on Sherpa?   Mr. Cyger doesn’t know I’m asking (he does now) and there is no guarantee he is going to listen to a word we say.  But I’m curious who the general public would like to see sit down with Drew and I.  And no you can’t say “anyone but Shane”.  I know I’m trumped every day by the other two panelist but remember the person on the panel has to be more than knowledgeable.  They have to be able to convey that knowledge, be entertaining, and have nothing else to do on Tuesdays.   Again, this is an unauthorized poll based on curiosity.    Here’s today’s list. Click for current prices and sorry about the lack of Godaddy names.  Rough list today

Fitech.com  20 years old.  And I’m guessing all the bids are because of the age and the tech

Karamel.com I have heard Kabbage commercials all day so if someone feels comfortable with a hundred million company with a K name then I can spend a grand or two on this one

MXFN.com   You know a four figure name when you see one.  Go get it

88790.com  Would be worth twice the price if the 88 was on the right

896188.com   Like this one.  It’s got an extra number and because of the 8s it’s doing well

ZQQD.com  A lot of points in Scrabble and a high price in domains.

Suits.cc   Below $30 so worth looking at IMO

HandcraftedSites.com   Solid web designer domains.  One bidder at $12

WebWriter.com  Coming up in a few days.  Nice name and around $100 but still has a ways to go

Special Domain Shane ONLY Coupon…….. CODE IS DDCDS2015 – Good 30% off Discount Domain Club, to get the lowest renewal prices Godaddy offers (DDC)

Char.com  One of the better 4L.coms on Flippa lately. 20 years old

XSYD.com   Even Sedo is getting some great prices for their LLLL.coms

DDFM.com  Double Ds are universal

ENNN.com   Reserve met.  The collectible LLLL.com owners have been waiting 5 years for prices to come back.  They’re finally here

BXPP.com  Another one hitting four figures and met reserve

FOR OTHER GREAT NAMES FOR SALE MAKE SURE TO VISIT CAX.COM

Nightscaping.com   20 years old.  Our company provides nightscaping which is using lights on the house to night landscaping

MMLS.com  Great letters internationally. Also pretty close to MLS

KnockedUp.com  One of my favorite movies.  And one of my favorite domain on the board today

NameSelector.com  I figured our industry would like this one.  I was thinking baby names but certainly could be used for domain selection

AllGravy.com  A saying not everyone knows.  Means its all luxury.  It’s all the extras

HWV.com  Closing today.    Don’t worry about the V.  You should like it because its going to save you a few grand

OrganicTimes.com  Everyone loves Organic.  All my plants at the nursery are almost organic.  Just a few pesticides here and there

CheckPlease.com  A great brand.  Sounds like a tv show name.  So many uses and well recognized

DropShips.com  I didn’t like the S but all the bidders tell me that most people don’t care

InternetRealEstate.net   It’s a dot net but its kind of what we do

YourDinner.com  Pretty good at the right price.  Gonna need a buildout.  I eat dinner every night so I’m an expert here

WorldSafe.com  It’s not but I’m thinking more of a place to lock things up.  Under 20 bidders

  1. Shane,
    Two suggestions:
    1. Someone who can explain some of technical aspects of the Dropcatch providers and their algorithms to catch the names. Why are some Drop catchers really better than others? There must be some science and technically behind it all. It is certainly not random. I would like to know more given that the trend is for caught domains to go into Private Auctions.

    2. Someone who does not have an agenda and who is prepared to talk honestly about the realities of Domaining , selecting and selling names. Not the hype, not the nonsense about LLLL.com or NNNNN.com and not the fairy tales of big sales. Facts and honest dialogue. Domaining comes across like MLM sometimes. There is this top 1% Super Diamond Premium Platinum Group, and then there is the 99% who make nothing and chase the dream told to them by the Top 1%.

  2. Garry Chernoff would be great… actually he would be great just for a regular Sherpa interview imo as well.
