DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Wednesday, August 6th 2015

Escrow.com
If you are a domain auction sellers I have a few words of advice. Domain buyers are not idiots.  There is no need to market your domain as if you’re selling a weight loss pill at 1 am on a cable TV show. Give us stats and info.  Things we may not already know about the name.  Save us some legwork.  Not hyped up, adjective laden, I don’t have any real info except actual words, type descriptions.    You don’t have to use the word premier.   A premier name does its own talking.  We will know a premier name when we see one. “The number one xxxxxx name on the market”  These statements absolutely do nothing to sell the name.  If anything it makes the buyers think the reserve is going to be too high because the seller is in love with the name and has an unrealistic expectation.  Give comparables, give monthly visits, give age, give us things that show us why someone else is going to pay us more money for the name.   Make us think we have a better chance of selling it than you.  THAT is the mirage you want to create.  Make us feel like we are getting a deal regardless of the cost.  But the art of making someone feel like they are getting a deal doesn’t include the word “you’re getting a heck of a deal”.   These are my opinions but read through a few Flippa descriptions and see if you don’t get the same laughs I do.   Here is today’s list.

Football.cc   We’ll see if the keyword can overcome the tld.   18 years old

LVWeddings.com  Last time I checked Las Vegas was the wedding capital of the US.   No bidders. $12.  17 years old

SmartSize.com   As good of a name as FashionMetric.  Only $12.  No bidders. 13 years old

LPNP.com  Repeating Ps, no vowels or Vs= $500 +

NHCM.com   Did I say Ps were good?  I meant Ns ,Hs, Cs, and Ms

Traveler.cc   Again, not going to get rich on these names but you could make 5 times your money

OnlineCollegeCourses.net  HUGE keywords.  Overcoming the dot net

769988.com   Top bid number on the GD list today.  That’s right a 6N dominates the charts

555597.com  And in second in bids, yup, another 6N.   The 5s sure do bring in the crowds

TTXK.com   Crazy high, crazy high

OTBF.com   Trying to figure out if the Chinese market is starting to take on LLLL.com with Os or the English market is buying them because its a good acronym

RDOF.com  Also over $200

PersonalToys.com  Good adult sex toy name.  Only one bidder at $10.  Less than the cost of the Whizzle Wazzle Monster Attack Dildo

DrivingTest.org   Coming up later.  Fantastic name for driving test study stuff.  Official sounding with the dot org

New GODADDY COUPON CODE: None Work, None. Click the link to See that None of them Work Godaddy Click This For No Savings

TouchSafe.com  Every device is now touch so touch names are as good as they’ve ever been.  And Safe is always a nice comfort word to throw in a brand name

DiscountPurses.com  13 year old domain.  Has met reserve with one bid.  If discountbags.com can go for $50K this one is worth more than the current bid.

PotMag.com  Good name but ridiculous statement for seller about being the best on the market

SEDO’s Live Auctions Going on Now

Shadowboxing.com  All I think of is Fiona Apple when I see this.  All the bidders tell me that not everyone feels the same.  18 years old

AutoLoans.net  Big time keyword will overcome the dot net……I think

WeLoveFeet.com  Good name for anyone that sells products for the feet.  16 years old

HBBA.com  Premier English LLLL.com  Love it

HDBD.com   You know how I like the double Ds.  Actually two Ds.  Good English AND Chinese.  You hear me say this all the time so I’ll call it Chinglish.

HDRB.com   Three HDLL.coms today.  I like them all

HDFN.com  And this is the other.  High Def Financial Nancy. You can probably find a better fit on the N thing

Tenticles.com   Tenticle.com  awesome domain.  Tenticles.com  OK

808.xyz  Excited to see how it does because I own 3, yes Three, NNN.xyz similar to this. I’m gonna be rich

Toby.com   If you don’t get 808.xyz then you could always buy this one if you have to have a nice domain

  1. I see a lot of people grabbing up NNNL.com’s and LNNN.com’s .
I was just curious Shane, Do you see a place for these, could they be a hot seller in the future.

  2. Smart Size isn’t a bad brand name but it would limit a company that brands around it to stay laser focused on sizing. Fashion Metric is a bit more broad which is why we picked it. Still, as far as two-word .COMs go I like SmartSize.com, good pick!
