DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Wednesday, Feb 25th, 2015

Escrow.com

When I visited Sedo’s Great auction today it got me to thinking.  Would the seller be better off not having the reserve range next to the name like Flippa, Namejet, and Godaddy?   I do realize the real reason.  To not waste the bidders time.  In a live auction its to keep the auction moving quicker and not getting hung up on a name that is $50K below the reserve.  But if I’m a seller I don’t want it.  I don’t want it because its not going to hurt me not to have it.  I have a reserve to protect me.  And the high range keeps a lot of people from placing a bid.  To the point some good names sit at the bottom of the list with little to no bids not getting any attention. I think that having 22 bids at $1500 is better than nothing and you never know.  The action may draw the attention of the right person or the person that knows the right person.  But I get the not wasting our time thing.   Here are today’s names

RedPyramid.com  13 years old.  Pretty easy logo and that usually means its a good name.  Under $50 at press time

HardFoul.com Solid sports blog name.  No bidders $12

Shoogy.com  Another one that would make a nice brand for $12.  No bidders

SendMeFreeStuff.com  One bidder.  Ironically you get 128 free visits per month with the purchase

28389.com  At $350 at press time.  I think $500 is the number

GMHY.com I wish I could tell you exactly why one name goes for $400 and another for $150 but I still haven’t figured it out and I look at these things every….single….night.  So I’m buying the $150 name until I figure it out

NJMU.com  Under $60 at press time

76739.com   $250 at press time.  No fours so at least $100 let in it based on past sales

GYCV.com Under $20 at press time.  Under $50 would be a steal.  And that’s why my bid is $50

InsuranceQuote.info   The CPC of $41 is higher than the price of this domain right now.  13 years old. Closes soon

QOF.com  Q is in the perfect place.  Only at $10K. Has some room to run IMO

Phones.net  About as good of a dot net as you can buy.  Not much more I can add

CreditCheck.io  Not really the startup type name that .io people use but lots of bids and under $150

Logo.io  This is the type they buy.  Should do well

Smartened.com  So many devices are getting smartened now.  IOT driver here. Only at $50 at press time. Worth more IMO

Insecticides.com Awesome name but probably won’t make reserve basing it on what this one did at Namejet

A GODADDY COUPON CODE: 99 Cent Dot Com Registration.  gofdsp401c

EOBF.com  21 years old.   Somebody could have been watching Seinfeld and decided to hand reg this.  Not that there is anything wrong with that

GreenFestival.com  Can’t believe a festival built around Tom Green would have this many bids

GoodCreditCards.com  I would rather have this than Credit.club but I can say that because .club doesn’t advertise here (but I still think .club is doing a hell of a job)

WetSaws.com I own a few. They aren’t cheap and every construction company most likely owns one

Videos.de  Going to sell.   Met reserve at $28,300

Estimator.com  Heck of a name but the reserve is just too high to draw attention

Jasp.com  Pushed to auction. Yours if you want it
