DomainShane’s BIG LIST of Domain Name Auction Picks: Wednesday, March 25th, 2015

Escrow.com

You’ve heard me say it before but Frank Schilling is buying dot com and high quality dot nets at Namejet at heavy levels.  Between him and FIRST it is getting difficult to buy names right now.  I haven’t gotten a name in months because I am constantly being outbid.  You will not outbid First but you can outbid Frank (or Frank’s employees) but it’s going to cost you. You have to really want it.  You won’t beat First.  If you do, you probably paid 100% more than you would have if he wasn’t bidding.  But don’t let that scare you. We don’t people to stop bidding just because he’s the bidding.  He also keeps the comps real high for everyone.  Here are today’s names

85206.com  No fours and an 8.  Should be good for $400 plus

OnlinePrograms.com  Calls Apps now but people still get it.  Getting a lot of big bids

DFWD.com  14 years old.  D for Dynasty

DFWF.com   14 years as well.  Little sister to the above

Top123.com  You might wonder why this is so high but Asians love 123 and “top” things.   Should do well

BuyAPresent.com  No bidders. For $12 it seems like a price you could get back with a semi decent buildout

21631.com   This one is a little harder for me.  No 5s or 8s but also no 4s.  I will say over under $400

21869.com  This is doing even better than all the rest.  I think I see why but dang this gets tough

325H.com   I’ve been buying these types of names. Three good numbers and a letter.  Haven’t sold any but they seem to get traffic and I usually pay under $25.  I’m the first bidder

ExpenseTracking.com  Under $100. Worth a whole lot more IMO

FantastyGarage.com  I imagine its full of Big Wheels but other people’s fantasy garage’s are probably different than mine

888207.com   Only one bid at $12.  888 is sexy enough to overcome the 6 number thing

VUPV.com   The Vs at the end haven’t scared anybody lately.  Looks like $100 will take it

HoeWorld.com Not sure if I’m going to get a tool for the garden or one for the bedroom. No bids at $10

A GODADDY COUPON CODE: 99 Cent Dot Com Registration. gofdsp401c

DrinkResponsibly.com This one is just begging to be bought by a major beverage company

AffilliateMarketers.com   Has a bid at $1000.  We all know how much money is in affiliate marketing

Narrators.com   Pete Coyote is my favorite.  Man can he narrate or read a book.  18 years old

BigPickle.com  Ends today.  Everyone will want a Big Pickle shirt.

RealBright.com I thought it sounded like a tech name or a tutor company. If you buy this you will be.  Has met reserve so somebody is bright.

Weak.net  It’s made reserve so after all these years it’s going to a new home

ITAssistant.com   It’s been listed one day and already has 7 bids.  ITMagazine.com sold on Flippa for $10K

Oppositely.com  8 years old.  The owner actually has relevant comps of other LY names and none have gone under $1700

MoodRing.com  I like it more as a brand than as a product domain

SEDO’s Live Auctions Going on Now

RomanceNovel.com  Do ladies still like romance novels ?  17 bidders think they do

OxyCotton.com  You laugh but I guarantee 90% of the people addicted to it think this is how its spelled

7008.net  The dot com easily passes $10K and the dot nets are usually in the 5% range.   Math, it’s what’s for breakfast

  1. Appreciate your narrative – ‘HoeWorld.com Not sure if I’m going to get a tool for the garden or one for the bedroom. ‘
Almost a great tag line, can only imagine the logo…

  2. And if you’re lucky and those two deep-pocketed bidders aren’t in an auction, grab the opportunity…I did that to win a nice generic com in pending delete that I spotted on domainsshane’s big list in late December and got it for a bargain…well IMOit was a bargain lol

  3. First, and Schilling are relentless, I was bidding against the latter and it was a reserve domain at namejet, they would keep bidding to outbid, but not to meet reserve. Name wasn’t even that good.

It is obvious that the gtld sales are stalling out with end users who have no interest, and .com is roaring on so this should provide you indication where the real money is.

First I think is a tech guy who owns many patents, but not sure, he has stupid money to spend, and is paying prices that would make end user sales difficult.

Only thing you can do is make them earn their prize, I guess the AM dial comes at a premium these days.

Honestly there is better value sitting in private portfolios at this point.

  4. The 6 number thing seems to be heating up – I have been watching the drops and about 75% of all 6 numbers are
getting registered. Has anyone else been paying attention to this?
