DSAD.com: Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, April 11th

Escrow.com

This is the time of year I wish I lived in a more tax friendly country.  Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind paying my taxes and I realize that in order to have the great quality of life I have and the infrastructure I need to pay taxes.  But between my tax generated through sales at my business, the payroll taxes I match, the personal taxes I pay, and the complete mismanagement of that money by my state and my nations, its hard not to be spiteful.  My state Illinois might be the worst in the nation.  Completely broke, not paying their bills, and selling off all their revenue producing entities is leading our state to bankruptcy.   And they wonder why businesses are moving the money overseas or at least keeping it there.   And certainly not incorporating in Illinois anymore. And its a little different on my Internet business than the brick and mortar.   The retail store uses a lot of infrastructure. Roads and services.  But my domain business doesn’t use hardly anything.  Everything is based on my privately owned infrastructure.  But they want the same cut.  Here are today’s names. Click to see current prices

L40.com  I think we’ve all pretty much called BS on this auction.  Can’t be real.

CountryArt.com  No bidders.  19 years old.  People specialize in country art.  Folk art.  Surprised there are no bidders

Flannerys.com   Pretty popular Irish name and more than a couple entities with the name.  Somebody had built the name out.  24,000 backlinks and 19 years old

No-Quarter.org  19 years old.  All the bids coming because of the PR4 and the 190,000 backlinks

Scow.com This was listed before.  Turns out its not a crooked cow but a boat

OfficeScape.com An upgrade name for a few companies.  Office landscaping.  22 bidders

UJCB.com, ZSEB.com, UBLX.com, IRJH.com, OZPF.com and IGPJ.com     A few nice bottom boats for you to peruse

WesternCollege.com  Sounds official, even if it isn’t.  It’s all about the implications

SexualSuccess.com   I’ve been told the key is effort.  No bidders

RabbitStop.com Millions of dollars in rabbit prevention sprays and powders.  Trust me I sell a lot.   Traffic and backlinks

SPDW.com   W for worldwide and wetlands.   Nice acronym for us Western type

DamnLiar.com  Should be the name of a satirical domain blog.  Ken O’Brien agrees

Wilox.com A 5L.com that’s under $25 at press time.  Good value IMO

28Blue.com  No value but my favorite play I ran on my 5th grade gym class football team.  Scored every time

822808.com   The zero keeps it cheap.  Still over $100 at this time

855808.com and  899808.com  Not doing nearly as well as the name above yet very similar

JCCJ.net   Very nice LLLL.net  This is one of the few LLLL.net that I would think about buying.com

JCCJ.org   The dot org has bids and is up for auction as well

50Z.net, 70Z.net, 90z.net     Own a whole series for under $100

PeacefulSlumber.com   Nice marketing name for a mattress company or sleeping app

CWCP.cc  I’m still buying LLLL.cc and since I keep losing all the auctions there is at least one other person that likes them too

HarborShack.com A few bids.  I feel like I’ve been there to get oysters on the halfshell.  Upgrade name for a few things

3133.info  3233.info  3633.info 3353.info All of these are at one bid at $20.  These have been going for more than this lately and quite a few triple numbers that I didn’t list

RGH.com   Already at $40K

HMSS.com  Real purty LLLL.com.  I think this break $2K easily.   But I’m all rainbows and unicorns on Western LLLL.coms

NFHH.com   This one is just as nice.  People like SS more than HH but I’ll take either

NotFree.com   Love this one.  Not sure it has much value though.   Every item that doesn’t have a price tag gets a response from customer “I guess it means its free. ha ha”

LOMD.com   Dr Larry Ogilve

Gramercy.net  One of my favorite areas of NY.  Gramercy Park

DifferentMusic.com  No bidders.  There are a lot of people that are always looking for different music merely because the want to be different.  Once it becomes popular they move on.  Or it could just be used to showcase up and coming artists

Caymans.org   You think Taryn will bid on this one

Congratulations.org    Such a nice positive name

NCKC.com  These names with the C and end with the C are the names I get the most inquiries on

  1. I’m sure you know, Illinois is so broke, they stopped sending out license plates renewals, they had to find a new ammo supplier for the CPD, and now they stopped sending out emissions reminders to save a dime.

How the heck am I supposed to know when my car needs an emissions test?

    avoidillinois.com is available.

  2. From the Illinois EPA website:
“NOTE: Illinois EPA has resumed mailing vehicle emissions test notices beginning April 6, 2016. Test notices will be retroactive to the first motorists that did not receive a test notice (motorists whose license plates expired at the end of March 2016). Motorists who have completed testing requirements will not receive one of the new test notices. ”

Isn’t there a sticker on the car that has the yearly inspection date on it? Maybe I’m just used to what they do in Texas. There used to be two windshield stickers — one for registration and one for inspection. There is now one sticker on the car that covers both. Inspection centers report electronically to the state when an inspection is done. You can’t get your yearly registration unless the inspection has been done. And you have to do all of this before the date on the windshield sticker passes. Of course, they mail you your yearly registration bill — so maybe the amount of mail is the same.

  3. My favorite Idea is a consumption tax. With a consumption tax everyone gets taxed, criminals, drug dealers, tourists, and you could leave things like food staples untaxed. The more money you have, the more you spend. The best part is removing the income tax would spur growth and productivity. No more watching how much you earn so as not to move into a higher tax bracket. How many times have you heard someone say “I’m not doing anymore overtime, I lose it all in taxes”.

But this will never happen. The income tax with all it’s intricacies, credits, and deductions, is more than just a tax levying mechanism. It has the ability to change behavior or elicit a particular action. If you can get a credit for buying energy efficient windows your more likely to buy those windows.

  4. I left the peoples republic of IL along with my wife and kids in 2013. Being born and raised in and around the city I had no choice but to cross the great Mississippi and wander west to Arizona.

I do not miss IL for even a micro second. Miss my family sure, but my real estate taxes are almost per year what I used to pay per month, It is business friendly and the weather is nice for 9 months.

As a business owner I couldn’t take it anymore so I took my business and all my tax dollars and escaped the clutches of the dear leader (sorry the mayor).
