DSAD.com: Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, May 2nd

Escrow.com

In the last two months we’ve entered a completely new domain market.  The easy money is gone and we’re back to real domain investing.  A place we’ve been for the last 20 years except the last three months.  There are now a large percentage of our industry that are underwater or struggling to find buyers of their domains.  That don’t have regular income now that everything has slowed down.  There are also some brokers that got used to the last year of flipping liquid names to other domain investors.  It was easy money. Now they’re not there and they have no idea how to make money.  Revenue is drying up and they are trying to figure out what to do.  Develop a site?  That takes a while and real income takes even longer.  Blog?  That’s a crowded field and advertisers are few and far between in this industry.   It will be interesting to see how this plays out but my guess is we will be down to the brokers like Andrew Rosener who were doing well before the Chinese invasion and will continue to do well after.  The rest give some things a try and eventually take a job.  Still flipping names on the side but for the family’s sake, get a regular paycheck.  Speaking of Andrew.  He, Sam Dennis, Michael Cyger and I have a great time talking domains on the newest Domain Sherpa show today.  I thought there was a lot of good stuff in there today and if nothing else, entertaining.  Here are today’s names.    Click to see current prices

SolarPowerCharger.com   Fantastic name.   Everything will be charged by solar IMO.   Four figure name IMO

CreateSuccess.com   And I thought that success came through good luck.  Now I find out that you have to work hard and put forth effort and create it.   Great name. 19 years old

HaveAnotherBeer.com   No bidders.  Good marketing I think.  Fine line between trying to sell some beer and trying to get someone drunk

UUUD.com  Tough acronym but very collectible.   16 years old

DDDP.com   A much much better repeater. Much easier to actually use

GBHE.com   Much better for an acronym

i4o.com   Still liquid.   You’ll probably be surprised how high this price is already

WellnessWagon.com  Sounds like a portable hospital.  It’s too bad that in the US the doctors don’t come to the patients anymore

ShrimpFest.com    Little brother to Lobsterfest.

CTN.co  Only one bid at $20.   Will be interesting to see where it ends up

QuickCoverage.com    Great name marketing name for an insurance company.   Quick usually means targeted towards lower income

TaxiWorld.com  I don’t like it as much as all the bidders do.   Not sure exactly what you’d do with it

WeddingGuy.com  No bidders.   You know there is a DJ that already calls himself that

SnapMobile.com    If SnapChat starts a phone company

BATP.com     Stock Symbol and B for Business

BYBK.com    12 years old and the stock symbol for Bay Bancorp

Yomad.com  Sounds like nomad but its not.  Its a cool new company name

MWNE.com, VWKI.com, EAXE.com, DUXD.com, VWKI.com

Metalon.com  Already a company but I liked it before I knew that because it sounds strong and modern

45277.com   24713.com  I’m not say start jumping on 5N.coms right now but it is worth watching to see if the new value gets established this spring

ValorCreek.com   Sounds like a brand of blue jeans at Wal-Mart

SmartCord.com    I’m interested to see what the cord is going to be so smart about.  Maybe it will automatically plug my phone in when I forget to

223166.com   The pairs are protecting the 31 like a pair of tackles.    Their work is getting $100 plus

ThisReallyPays.com   Which makes me think it probably doesn’t

PartyInABottle.com  One bidder at $10.  Sounds like an easy sale if you ask me.  guarantee they remember this domain if you put it on a commercial or in print

VRMove.com  Put VR in front of pretty much any known word and it will sell for at least $12 right now

HashPass.com  Also known as a medical marijuana card

555893.com   At $80 at press time

Special Domain Shane ONLY Coupon…….. CODE IS DDCDS2015 Good 30% off Discount Domain Club to get the lowest renewal prices Godaddy offers (DDC)

Twines.com  If a tweet and a vine have sex

ECQ.com   Cheap but seller isn’t going to let it go for that

ImOrganic.com Selling a website with the name. Ditch the website and keep the name.  Organic people LOVE to brag that they are.  This name would be a prize for them.

FOR OTHER GREAT NAMES FOR SALE MAKE SURE TO VISIT CAX.COM

FindAStory.com Ending today.  A good story is often ruined by the facts

185100.com  No bidders.  Nice and round.  Like I like my circles

ORYB.com  There is one guy in the world with this name.  Sell it to him.  I guess you could go the LLLL.com route

CharterC.com  No bids.  I think for $69 this makes a memorable brand.  Domain owners don’t like to hear it but a brand just has to be memorable.  Not expensive

Seenl.com   I used to own a ton of these names with the l.  It was a typo because people hit the L instead of the of the period.  I like this not as a type but as a short brand for $69.  No bidders

33289.com  Very nice 5N.com  Has already reached the $2500 floor price but worth more IMO because of the double 3s

OrganicTimes.com   124 bidders love organic and vegan

688802.com    No reserve. Has a triple 8 but is still only at $80

Experiments.net    Great youtube channel name.    And there you can blow shit up and stuff

ExercisePlans.com  Another video site.   I remember watching ESPN each morning a decade ago and watching Kia or some Hawaiian girl exercise for an hour while I got ready for work.

OutOfThisEarth.com An old saying that Berkens would get $10K

Snapshots.org  I would like the singular and the dot com but you can’t beat the price here.   7 bidders like it

Dalaman.net   a beach town/vacation spot in Turkey.

ZZRR.com   Closes today. Best LLLL.com pattern you can own.  If you’re into this whole pattern thing

NKKN.com  The third best pattern after the above and AAAB

AAAO.com  Speak of the devil

eHelpWanted.com  No bids.  Kind of 2000ish name but still could be a good brand

Teebo.com   Not how Tim spells it but still makes a nice brand.  No bidders

  1. So true. Some brokers who seemed to come out of nowhere were sending out newsletters announcing large deals weekly. Now they have gone totally quiet…

Although I only made a bit of profit off the rise of Chips, I am glad that I am still have my “pre-Chips” portfolio.
