There is one thing that I’ve learned after the last year or so at auctions. If First or Two Two want a name. I WILL NOT be able to beat them at an auction. And it doesn’t matter how ridiculously high a price gets. They will keep going. Ken O’Brien can vouch for me because the same thing happened to him. The Chinese absolutely love balance in their names. And they have take an liking to LLNN NNLL.coms that have repeaters on each side. Yesterday I really liked 11MM.com. But so did the First and Two. They were bidding it up between each other and then I decided to jump in. A At $400 I jumped in and it was obvious that no matter what I bid they were going to come right back and they did. I remember talking to Ken about a very similar name and he went all the way up to 4K and they kept going. It too would have stopped at $500 without him joining in. I’m not going to lie, its intimidating. People who are talking about a crash obviously aren’t getting beat up like I am in the auctions. First and twotwo are a sellers dream I guess but as a buyer on the other hand …
I have been outbid by those two more times than I care to remember.
I have found first to be even more determined than twotwo for certain types of names (only a very small difference between them) in that he will literally keep bidding to any price, you may as well give up in advance and use your energy for other things.
One example of many, I was bidding on 622626.com at dropcatch some months ago which I really wanted to buy. It went over $500 bidding back and forth. With around 30 seconds or less to go he outbid me yet again with another high proxy and I gave up knowing it was going to be futile to keep trying.
It can get very very frustrating bidding against those two bidders.

No. Newbies just found out about first and twotwo. Anyone who has been bidding on these names the last few years knows this all too well. Nobody is forcing anyone to buy these names. If a shill bidder causes someone to pay more than you want to then they aren’t doing it right. You should figure out what you’re willing to pay and stick to it. Shill bidding preys on the undisciplined

TT11.com is the name you are referring to. I can recall this name without any effort and it has nothing to do with being the under bidder. Like you have mentioned many times you have to pay up to get good names. When dealing with First and twotwo I look at it as I have a lot of possible buyers for the name I’m pursuing. You will notice that your inbox gets a lot of inquiries when ever you win an auction they were involved in.
