DSAD: Shane’s Big List of Domain Auctions for Saturday 19th

Twenty years ago a “new” Star Wars came out.  19 years before that I had collected Star Wars figures. I had purchased one to play with and one to put on my shelf. Pretty good thinking for a 7 year old.  It paid off pretty well.  So in 1995 I collected every Star Wars figure I could find. This time around I had no interest in playing with any of them.  This time it didn’t work out as well.  To the right is a picture of one of 10 crates of Star Wars Toys sitting in my basement.  Yes 10 crates.  I have no idea how many hundreds of these I have.  I give them away to kids all the time and now that it’s hot again I’ve been giving them away to kids for Christmas again.  I did make some money on some of the figures.  At the premier in 1995 they gave away a collectible Luke Skywalker in a special package that was special only to the premier.  I got four of them and sold them for $2,000.   Unfortunately I put all the money back into the toys you see.  I think about this all the time with domains.  At some point you have to take some profit.  If you keep reinvesting every dollar at some point it could fall to nothing.  I don’t believe any of my domains will have that problem but I thought the same thing about my Star Wars Toys.  But GLGL.com isn’t a Star Wars toy.  I feel pretty good it will be worth more than Leigh in Slave Girl outfit.  Buy they both make me giddy.  Here are today’s domains.
