A couple weeks ago I mentioned that I may be the worst crypto trader in the world. After staring at charts and  order books for a full 3 days and nights straight, I may have figured it out. Now I’ll probably lose it all from my misplaced confidence, but I was able to flip the huge dips the last several days and double my money.

It’s not glorious work, especially watching a screen with numbers flashing about all night long, but it is very addicting. Similar to buying a numeric .ws I have to look at the money I’m spending as tournament poker chips. Once I start thinking of things I could buy or things I won’t be able to buy, it will all fall apart.

WS probably is not a good example, with some things you want that little alarm in the back of your head to start buzzing in overdrive, trying to remind you that you can’t eat or pay a mortgage with poker chips.

Raymond posted the other day on TheDomains.com about crypto domain sales, it’s all real, I keep selling them almost every week. I think it lends weight to the concept of crypto currency as a whole that real users are buying these domains and making something out of them.

The other day I delved first hand into the workings of the blockchain. Despite all the talk, and  conceptual understanding of what it’s all about I’ve never explored how the transaction work other than a few transfers here and there.

I bought a few crypto kitties, I figured my daughter who loves cats would enjoy it. She loves the idea and has fun naming them. I transferred some ETH into my Metamask wallet on Chrome, bought a few and started breeding them like crazy. All the talk of high cat sales, made me wanna try my hand at crypto cat breeding. I went crazy, bought and breed like 150 cats.

I learned a lot about gas and other transaction fees that fuel the blockchain. I did not know how much I was paying since the transaction fee and the gas fee confused me. Turns out I was paying $5-$10 a piece to breed these little bastards and most of them don’t sell for that much.

So in the end we learned a little about the blockchain, bought, breed, and named a herd of cats, all for the tiny price of about $1k lol . We also sold a few, we actually sold “Shane” the cat, figuring he would get a decent price.

  1. That is hilarious. I’d like one of Shane’s sons for Christmas. But I admit when I looked at the cats I didn’t do it because I got sidetracked into looking into gas prices and GWEI. Amazing how some people pay huge gas prices to be first on the block to pick up fat fingered trades. Kitties are like our learn to read books

  2. Vitalik got you. Lol
