Every two years I have to certify my National Registry Paramedic certification. The course is 48 hours long, which makes for a long time sitting in a classroom. Two years ago, I took an online refresher course instead of sitting in a class and I’m in the middle of doing it again this year.
The online course works for the recert because it’s instructor lead. Every class that I take is live with a real instructor and students from all over the world. The classes are in 2 hour blocks and rotate through 24 sessions several times a week. Today I took a class that had over 100 people in it, so they must be doing something right.
One thing they’re not doing right is their domain name. It’s “Distance” with a 3 letter acronym attached. I can’t help but wonder if they’d do more business is they had a better brand. Maybe I’ll find a better name and try and sell it to them.
I’ve done 6 classes so far so only 18 more to go. While I have 2 years to complete the course I like to wait till I only have 2 weeks left to finish. I have to have all the classes done by March 31st so I don’t get fired. I tell myself it’s better to wait till the end so I can spend more quality time doing domains. Seriously though, I’m not sure if procrastination is clinical illness or if I just like feeling pressure and stress to get something done.
And finally, since we’ve all been curious about the recent high bids at auction, I’d like to highlight some names not to buy.
Worst Godaddy expired name at auction with a bid: dh-texas-poker-free-chips.com only 31 characters 4 hyphens, whois creation date of 2017, but somehow has a Godaddy traffic score of 190 visits a month. I’m pretty sure this traffic is bots or BS, but I could be wrong. In any case it’s a really bad name.
