It was good to have Cyger back on the DomainSherpa in the latest episode. I thought it was fun to see him on the other side of the interview microphone answering questions in the format he created.
Ategy came back on the scene in the comments section after being called out by Shane for his notable absence. He did not disappoint with his level of comments. 🙂
I made one comment, though significantly shorter than Ategy, to someone that posted a couple of names that they had hand registered. Probably not the right place to post them, as it had nothing to do with the show, but it made me think that maybe we could do that here from time to time.
So if you think you’ve hand registered some gems and want audience feedback, post 1 or 2 at a time in the comments section. Write why you think someone might buy the name, ie, good brand, marketing name, anything.
I don’t hand register names that often, and I’ve shared the majority of the ones that I have. I often make the distinction between hand registering and hand catching: I consider hand regs as names I’ve made up or spun and hand catching as names I paid registration fee but that were found on an deleted or pending delete list.
95% of the times I own and sell are names that I paid only registration fee but were dropped by someone else.
Regarding our Crypto hand registered experiment, we’re 10% of the way to breaking even. I sold CryptoAdaptor.com for $399 this week on Godaddy premium. Maybe it will make a profit, maybe not, still 11 months to go.

Notable absence ??? lol .. You Silly Seal Sucker .. I actually posted HERE last Friday .. lol. Plus as I mentioned on my own little blogish over at NamePros I suffered to complete computer/windows crisis/meltdown/disaster .. Microsoft was not just useless .. but cost me both data (thankfully not too much) and wasted time .. plus I completely redid my process for doing going through the daily names (which involved learning/tinkering significantly at newfound Jedi levels of Excel). Add to that the fact I actually have to work at work .. lol.

Depends on what you paid for them. I’d give them a shot at reg fee maybe a little more. Undercover Security makes me think of a catch a cheater service lol. Expert Cannabis isn’t horrible but I don’t know how much someone would pay. Cannabis Expert is better, Canna Expert or maybe even Expert Canna. So if someone builds a brand on Cannabis Expert it’ll negate any chance of yours selling for much, unless it’s to them. Flipping the words around changes the meaning, sometimes that can help, but in this case your domain sounds like it’s cannabis for Experts not an Expert on cannabis. Then that adds all those extra options like ExpertOnCannabis, ExpertOfCannabis. So it could sell, hopefully it will that’s just my first glance take on it.

Not a name I would normally consider but weedweed.com was over $3k when I picked the .net up.

Elaborate on what you mean weedweed.com was over $3k? auction, sold or list price? The problem is I don’t seeing anyone buying it as a brand, I’ve sold a few .net’s and have some decent single word net domains, but they don’t sell. Not many people are seeking out the net’s for their business. Maybe it’ll sell, but I wouldn’t register it if you let it drop, but then I can’t remember the last time I hand registered a .net. I don’t really like the .com either. I realize it has some value, but I think that will most likely be from domainers passing it around.
Waste of money. .net is almost impossible to sell unless its a major keyword. My opinion only.
Weed is a major keyword, but I think you mean a major keyword only once. Weed.net – huge. weedweed.net – not huge. weedweedweed.net – a little worse. I used to own alienalien.com. GoDaddy’s valuation on the name was something like $60K which was funny that the valuation algorithm got played like that. I dropped it, but HugeDomains picked it up. So I guess their algo likes it too.

1 – going to take a specific buyer, but it is a cool name. I would have paid $9 for it. I wouldn’t be pricing it as high as either of those sales though.
2 – i think the ideal geo + real estate name would be MilwaukeeHomes.com or MilwaukeeRealEstate.com. Home sales implies a site showing past home sales rather than homes for sale. Maybe that was your intention. A search of namebio with homesales at the end of the name yields only eight results total with two being cities – austin and aspen. I would have passed on this one.
3 – I like this name at $9. AI, programming, cloud, etc… online publication

Healthsquid, like it, could be anything having to do with health. That’s the key to brandables even ones that lend themselves to a certain industry. HealthSquid is an open vessel within the health genre. Something like foothealth would be so narrow that it’s no longer an open vessel brand.

Sleepvape I also like, but as a product, maybe a medicinal/herabal vaporizer that helps you sleep. More of a room unit not a mod. Also has soothing sounds and soft lights.
