It’s almost time for Namescon and I’m ready to go. Well I’m not packed or anything, I like to wait till about 40 minutes before I leave for the airport, it gives me a thrill and I enjoy the panic of chaos.  I’ll be getting in Friday night, I decided to give myself an extra day to relax an settle in, and buy the things I forget since I packed last minute.

Anyone that’s been to Namescon in the past knows that WaterNight  is a fun filled event that raises money for WaterSchool.com an organization with the goal of bringing clean drinking water to areas of Uganda and Kenya that do not have easy access to a clean water source. Water is probably the most important thing we need to live, just behind Air. Not having clean water increases sickness, and mortality, while lowering the overall quality of life.

WaterNight has a different format this year than in the past. Here’s what will be happening, taken right from their site:

Monday, January 29th, 2018 . 6:30pm – 10:30pm
Havana Club – Tropicana Hotel
Every year, the NamesCon community gathers for WaterNight – a gala extravaganza where 100% of the proceeds are used to bring clean water as well as hygiene and sanitation training to families in rural Uganda through WaterSchool.

This year, WaterNight will take on an exciting new format: Join us for a night of networking over dinner, with entertainment from a classic Las Vegas lounge BAND and celebrity COMEDIAN Justin Willman. Bid on SILENT AUCTION items or challenge other guests to match your donation in our closing IMPACT AUCTION, with all proceeds to benefit WaterSchool.

WaterNight continues in 2018 raising money to fund clean water projects! Let’s work together to raise $100,000 for clean water projects in one night of generosity!

Dress Code is upscale fashionable attire. We do not permit: hats, sandals, sneakers, boots, ripped or baggy clothing, athletic/swimwear nor bikinis. Collared shirts are required for men. Age: 21+

Ticket are available for purchase, here www.waternight.org

Or you can win a ticket from DSAD.com. We’ve have 1 ticket to give away to anyone going to Namescon. Yes you have to be attending Namescon to win the WaterNight ticket, it’s not a cool souvenir that you can put on the shelf to show everyone that you won. You have to go.

So here’s what we’re gonna do: If you would like a chance at winning the ticket and are indeed going to Namescon (we will check), you need to post in the comment section the best name you’ve bought at Godaddy closeouts or hand registered/hand caught within the last year.

There is no science to this, Travis, Aaron and I will pick the best name, in our opinion, and give the winner the ticket.  Best name being the domain that has the highest potential to sell for the highest amount of money.

If this all falls apart and all the names are terrible or we can’t decide, we will pick a winner at random from those that submitted names. You will have 24 hours to make your entry from the time this posts.

Domain of the Day: CryptoSpecials.com Find all the deals in Crypto. Looks the the singular sold recently for $2k. I think the plural is better in this case, depending on what you’re going to do with it. The singular and the plural of this word really have different meanings in common use. Specials being discounts and Special being unique. It currently has no bids.

  1. .
I’m just getting back from a family trip / memorial for my Grandfather and unfortunately won’t be making it to NamesCon .. which is a good thing because I have too many closeout names I’m super happy with from the last year to actually decide .. lol .. a very recent one is YoureOnTheAir // dot // com! Just putting it out there to get the ball rolling and see how it stacks up .. but it’s not an official entry as I won’t be there, so submit your best name people!
    .
BTW .. if any of you really want to impress the judges in this contest .. dsadcoin.com is available at handreg .. as well as a bunch of Seal domains at auction tomorrow (even if the contest ends in 24 hours I’m thinking Josh will be so impressed with Seal names that it wouldn’t surprise me if a Seal name would seal the win regardless of when it is submitted! 😉
    .
Really cool you guys are able to get your hands on and give away tickets for NamesCon and a ticket to the water night .. kinda bummed I’m not going this year .. but I’m going to win it all next year if the promos happen again! 🙂

  2. volleyballgifts.com $5 * Paid $5 2018/01/06 2018/01/10

This was hard to decide on, but since Shane’s daughter received a volleyball scholarship, he may be looking for some volleyball gifts at some point. 🙂

  3. Hello Josh, thanks for the update on the waterschool.com project in Uganda…am actually from Uganda. i love reading your daily list of domain names on Tuesdays and Saturdays and some names i have purchased from the past list(like iMediated.com and many more) have done well for me sold for a very good profit last year…

Then about NAMECON i hope to be there probably next year as for this year cannot make it since i have a personal local business am managing that has occupied most of my time.

  4. Good morning,
    .
I am the same as you Josh, always waiting to pack last minute. Not sure why i do that, just seems easier since i dont want my suitcase sitting around my condo half packed just taking up room for days previous.
    .
Thanks for the new contest offer. I will be attending NamesCon again this year and i have to say, the Water Night event last year was awesome. It really sounds like its gonna be so much better this year and im excited to attend this even moreso this year. It really is an awesome charity. We all take water for granted. Kudos to Richard Lau for creating this charity event and bringing it to our domaining community, and many more kudos to new owners of NamesCon,
(WorldHostingDays) for keeping this awesome event alive under the NamesCon event!
    .
I have had some pretty good hand regs this last year. Of course some duds as well. For me it seems like the ones with the most offers/sales have been emoji and crypto/coin related.
    .
Here is my one hand reg entry for a chance at winning…
    UnitedStatesCrypto (com)
I like this one because of the United States beginning. Could be about United States Crypto taxes, exchanges, regulations, US based Coin/Crypto Companies, etc.
    .

  5. The best name I bought at GoDaddy auctions at closeout was ANBCapital.com. Paid $10 and sold it 59 days later for $3153 (don’t ask me why, but that is what the buyer offered). So, it’s the best because well, that just doesn’t happen.

Plus, I really want to go to Water Night and sit with the DSAD guys.

  6. Not going to Namescon but got a lot of very good names off yours and Shane’s lists this year. Not sure what the best closeout buy would be as I got a few one-word dotcoms but my favorite is

    Selfideo.com

It’s the video version of a selfie. You know it’s good when all extensions are taken which is the case here. $11 closeout thanks to you guys.
