Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday, January 13th, 2023

Today is the best day of the year. My Mom’s birthday. She turns a little over 70 today. My Mom had me young. Actually while she was in college at Illinois State University. I was actually born the day they landed on the moon but she told me the other day that she didn’t watch as much of the moon landing as other people because she had to take a few tests after I was born. She said the professors gave her a little extra time but she still had to go in less than a week after I was born to go take them. She said she wasn’t supposed to take any stairs since she just had a baby but she didn’t have a choice and went 5 days after birth and carried me into two exams that were on the 3rd and 5th floors.

I asked her “How’d we do?” She said she didn’t remember but it wasn’t a bad grade. I took it as I’ve been learning since I was 5 days old and never stopped. As you might have remembered, my Mom moved from California to 3 blocks away. Now I get to see her almost every day and take in all the great stories. My Mom helped me for the first 23 years of my life, I figured I can help her with her last 30. I hope it’s 30 or at least a lot of great years. I don’t look at it as a responsibility as much as I’m fortunate to be able to help. She’s single and it gets tough as you get older. Can’t lift and do things quite as easily as before and now I can help. I’m 3 minutes down the road. The other day I put up a new mailbox. Another day I set up a ring and a few other cameras. Yesterday she watched my dog when I went to Chicago. Last night my daughter went over and just hung out with Grandma. It’s how life should be and I’m very grateful I get to spend time with her. I hope when my daughter settles down I get to do the same thing.
