I don’t think I’ve ever seen an economy like this. The growth acceleration is so fast and so strong, the infrastructure can’t keep up. They can’t make enough cars, the can’t make enough packaging. Not enough trucks to move all the orders. No chips to produce electronics. Anyone that relies on someone else to make pieces of the product has been screwed. Anyone vertically integrated. Crushing it
This isn’t a recovery. This is a boom. I tried to go out to dinner the other night and booked. Every single restaurant, booked. And none of this half full thing. More crowded than before Covid. I’m not going to get into the Covid implications. I’m only going to say those that have survived are going to print money for the next year.
You know I’m a big investor in Ford and I study the rental car market as a result. They simply don’t have enough cars. They took advantage of the hot used car market and the terrible rental car market and sold off their inventory. Now they don’t have enough cars to meet demand. Not even half of demand. I can’t visit Hawaii this year because a rental car is $300 to $400 A DAY!!!!!. They are going to have to buy a ton of cars. Add to it that dealer lots are empty and car companies are going to have banner years. Even short on chips.
In short, this is the year. The year of a lifetime. I really believe it. I think the late summer, fall will be a period of time we never forget. Not because you will make money. Because many aren’t set up to take advantage. You will remember because you won’t be able to do or buy a lot of the things you want because so many people will want the same thing. I don’t think I remember a time like that. Maybe an item or a particular place being hot. But not everything. I think it will be everything this year.

Fed’s Powell sees US boom ahead, with COVID still a risk
The U.S. economy is poised for an extended period of strong growth and hiring, the chair of the Federal Reserve said in an interview broadcast Sunday, though the coronavirus still poses some risk.
Chair Jerome Powell, speaking to CBS’ “60 Minutes,” also said that he doesn’t expect to raise the Fed’s benchmark interest rate, currently pegged at nearly zero, this year. And he downplayed the risk of higher inflation stemming from sharp increases in government spending and expanding budget deficits.
