Domain Spotlight:

Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, November 7th, 2022

One of the things you learn from marathon running is you can spend months and months of pushing yourself every day only to have race day with horrible weather. Meaning you will probably finish but have zero chance of meeting your goals from the very first step. Those that just have the goal of just finishing have it easy. The only goal is to finish and make it through without hurting yourself. Race number 2 is where it begins. Chasing times becomes the new goal. Those goals could take years. My initial goal was to finish. Then to break 3:30. Then to qualify for Boston. Then to break 3 hrs. I was fighting genetics and age on all accounts. It took me 13 years to reach those goals. 13 years. I got faster 13 straight years and I’m 53 and a big lug of a body. But I am patient. I pick apart the issues are one by one and try and figure it out. It’s pretty much the only thing I do now where the only thing holding me back is me. Sure there can be an injury but that too is generally dictated by how you train. Proper training generally helps avoid injury

This past weekend I had teammates running the Indy marathon and NY. Indy had 40 mph winds and NY was super hot for November. Both leading to “bad” times and everyone knew that despite having their best training season ever they were not going even to come close to their best times. Except for one person. He was already a great runner but somehow took off 20 lbs and lifted for 6 months and came back like superman. Ran a 2:48 marathon into the heavy wind at 50. This was after running 2:50 a month ago in Chicago. He had broken 3 hrs a couple of years ago but was having trouble breaking it again. Until he didn’t. We have all been hitting the gym since he stepped into our training group. We saw incredible improvement with a perfect diet and weightlifting and immediately followed suit. Because no matter how the test goes, the training and lifestyle lead to way more important things than just putting down a good time. Let those thoughts guide you in all your endeavors. Even if what you are striving for doesn’t come to fruition. The preparation, actions, and what you learned during the process will still make you better for the next things that enter your schedule.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

  1. You are an inspiration, Shane. Wow.

Yeah, “…LNN dot coms at auction always crush it. But put it up privately and it will be 1/5 that” What is up with that? Always SO much more expensive when at expired names. I often follow my drops when they come up at auction. I drop them because they have zero interest at any price….But…when they go on expired, they get bid up up up. WTF? Huge Domains grabs most of my drops (and, I find that they are the winners of most of the auctions I back out of and lose).
