Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Monday, October 23rd, 2022

You’ve probably heard me mention Rick Schwartz if you follow me on Twitter. I like Rick in many ways. I appreciate his passion. I appreciate how kindly he treated my Mother at his conferences. What I don’t like is he is an asshole overall. He’s earned his success. No doubt. What he doesn’t have to do, is belittle those that go a different route than his. He was the king but he’s isn’t the king any more. Swetha is the queen. She is the queen because one, I think she has or she absolutely will make more money than Rick. Two, she is doing it in dot xyz right now. She didn’t buy 100 or so names and hold. She practically bought up an entire registry and held. She is doing it live, on air. Rick hasn’t bought a name in the last decade that is part of his top 10 sales. He is riding his laurels. He’s like a guy that held the record for home runs but 25 people have now hit more yet the guy still calls himself “The Homerun King”. True but not as true as it was and its a shared title.

The world is a what have you done for me lately world. They celebrate modern success and put the rest in museums and memories. Rick is a museum piece. A museum worth a lot of money but only for display. Not for modern day use. The only thing at this point to learn is “have conviction, get your price, be patient enough to get what you know its worth”. There are no new actions that show this. Only actions of the past or sales of domains in the past. What he’s doing now is being done better by dozens. Braden does it 10 times better but he has no nicknames nor is he doing anything but sharing his current buys and sells in hopes of helping other understand what he’s doing and perhaps they can emulate it. Current names, current prices. That is helpful and is being celebrated. Not visiting the museum

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

    1. You don’t know me very well. Jealousy isn’t really something I have. I definitely want what others have but I know the work that takes to get it so its a different feeling than jealousy. Rick is a passing thought and again, if you know me, I am so busy there’s no places for rent in my head. It’s occupied. But Swetha is the Queen it’s official. I get to make the calls and I’ve made it.

    1. Yes – unfortunately, the level of assholery can often be tied directly to net worth. That is a general statement though – I know next to nothing about Rick.

    2. I know way more about Rick than you do and I promise he would give up a lot of those riches to avoid some of the tough times he’s had and its also why he’s so angry. I would easily give up the 100 million to keep my happy married life of 27 years. its priceless. Move on

  1. I don’t know Rick but I’m familiar with his blog and have heard him talk. He’s def full of himself. I’ve made some money in my life too and have a few friends who are worth 10 dig and the cool ones are humble and don’t talk down to anyone except to other rich guys who think their shit don’t stink. I’ve been putting mfers in their place for a couple of decades like Charles Bronson. There’s only a few fck heads in the domain space and they couldn’t handle real heat. In the entertainment biz and the weed biz we got some real bad fck faces and we take care of them in court if they’re lucky, otherwise we do it in the middle of the muthafuckin street. 😂🤣😝

  2. I need to hear from Swetha herself, preferably in a Q&A video session, and learn more about her before I believe that she is simply a domain investor who got it right with xyz. At this point, it sounds like Swetha is an entity created by and/or in partnership with the registry. I want to know much more before any accolades are bestowed. And no crowns will given.

    1. Sales are sales. No way all of them are fake. Swetha, person, entity or whatever it is has been selling xyz like crazy and they are being used. Dot com is kind but there are millions in the non coms

    2. I’ve been thinking the same thing, myself about this mythical person named Swetha. It definitely sounds implausible that she/it could make these sort of consist sales – especially on such an insignificant extension.

NO ONE should be reporting on her/it’s sale going forward until the real story comes out, because I can’t help but think that this is going to turn out to be another Theranos situation here.

Whatever you think of Rick, the one thing that’s certain is that he’s for real and has been doing this (very successfully) for a quarter century. Swetha comes out of nowhere and every single week sells around $100K in .XYZ domain names. Something here doesn’t make sense.
