The good news is traffic spiked to 12,000 visits on Monday. The bad news it was a DDOS attack on the site. I have no idea why anyone would waste their effort tying to take down this little old site. They also didn’t realize we have Travis and Cloudflare which are a pretty good combination for fighting stuff like that. Cloudflare is absolutely amazing and a must for any site. Not only do they make your site faster but they also can mitigate spam and DDOS pretty quickly. Now they are offering small site hosting and email. As long as the page doesn’t make a bunch of calls it is great for throwing up a few page site. I can’t imagine if they wen’t down. Half the Internet would be down. Probably even more than if AWS went down. Its scary being so reliant on one company but there really isn’t anything like it out there. They’ve become so good and so big they literally run the Internet. I know they have kept DSAD up running and we’re super thankful they exist.
