Listed below are updates on the top ten domain sales from a year ago, as ranked by DN Journal.

1. TelefoonHoesjes.nl sold for $61,605

The domain translates to “phone cases” in Dutch, and redirects to SmartPhoneHoesjes.nl. Per Google Translate, Let your smartphone and tablet shine with the most fun and unique cases and other convenient accessories. Free shipping and fast delivery!

2. Serres.com sold for $30,000

The domain was an upgrade from Serres.us, where they still have their English language site. They’re based in Massachusetts, but they also have developed sites in other languages on Serres.cn and Serres.fi. “Serres is a leading manufacturer of Surgical Suction Systems and Fluid Management products in the hospital marketplace.”

3. Cars.pt sold for $22,200

They have a simple “C” live at their site. The domain sold for slightly less than Cars.com.

4. YUO.com sold for $19,999

The domain is parked, and per Whois and NameBio, traded hands again recently for $17,000 and was picked up by Shane Warne, the smart gentleman who was kind enough to be interviewed here.  When he and I chatted recently about YUO.com, he said in part, “Back in the old days, a Westerner would fall over themselves to buy a 3L pronounceable with huge traffic. Now, it’s just a floor value name with two annoying vowels in it.Well said! The domain was discussed recently as a flop, but I know it won’t turn out that way for Mr. Warne, who is patient and has a long term mindset.

5. Swarming.com sold for $18,000

Domain is parked, and might be owned by the folks behind World.com.

6. InvestmentBroker.com sold for $15,000

The domain is parked, and owned by the domain investor who recently profitably flipped Transporting.com.

6. WishList.net sold for $15,000

The domain was picked up by “Digital Intelligence BV” of Amsterdam, and their service is pitched in part as “Keep track of your wish lists and share them with friends and family.” The site has an Alexa rank of 8.2 million.

8. Jipo.com sold for $13,500

No site resolves.

9. Fantasy.tv sold for $13,320

This Chinese language site is the traffic leader for the week, with its Alexa rank near 500,000. Per Google Translate, “Fantasy game video network – a focus on the game story video site“.

10. Curate.net sold for $12,500

The domain was sold by Braden Pollock, and the site describes itself as, “a vetted marketplace for companies to discover, message & hire qualified freelancers.” The company received $500,000 in funding around the time of the domain acquisition. Interestingly, they used to reside at CurateJobs.com and now have the .com forwarded to the one word .net. The site has an Alexa rank near 3 million.

  1. It’s crazy seeing this much spent on so much unproductivity. Not just this sample but lots.
