So my newest investment is in Variegated Monsteras. Its the hottest plant out there and super hard to find. Just one cutting with no roots is $200 right now. Rooted about $500. I have been buying up stock plants, growing them on and selling cuttings and baby plants. It fits perfectly into what I already do and the prices are still crazy. The problem is I have to do it from work. Enough people are in the know that they will get stolen instantly at the nursery. I had a cutting laying out for less than 20 minutes and it disappeared. The local plant store had one in their shop and someone broke in and stole it. Because it was a giant $5K mother plant. The best plants can sell for $10K plus.
This plant is a great investment which is odd to say for a plant. But even if the cuttings go down to $20 it will still eventually pay for itself. And I know I can $50 even in the worse conditions for a rooted cutting at the nursery. I have spent about $2K so far and adding more each week. And sold $1K worth of cuttings. I expect to make a bunch more next spring. It’s funny because my grow light set up makes you think I’m growing pot in the basement but during the winter but its just variegated monstera which actually yields more than cannabis 🙂
