I hate to even leave October. It was such a great month. 60 days left to crush the rest of the year. My goal is to make the most of the next 60 days. I need to lose about 15lb pounds which is tough since I have added a lot of weightlifting. Great for looking good, bad if you’re trying to build a body to be a fast runner. I am moving to more of a hybrid runner. Meaning I still have great strength but can move fast. Very few do it. Nick Bare is probably the most famous. Huge physique but still ran 2:45 marathon. But he did move from 205 to 185 to do it. I am pushing 200 right now and my race weight is 175. Not sure I can get there after a year of lifting. Maybe 185.
I make sure I get 80-90 grams of protein per day. No powders. Just greek yogurt, cottage cheese, meats and eggs. No breads and generally no sweets. Essentially, limiting the calories that don’t provide anything of nutritional value. My vice would be a Red Bull or Monster which I know is bad for me but can’t be perfect all the time. I’m back running which helps but only at 28-30 miles a week and need to double that in 3-4 months which will help take off the weight. All of this I’ve done before but at my age it becomes even more difficult . My V02 Max is still mid 50s so I’m keeping in good shape. Just need to be lighter
