Already reflecting on 2024 and it was one of my favorite years yet. I took a role with D3 which I loved but realized once a founder always a founder. Its very hard to work for someone else when you are used to guiding the ship or being in a partnership guiding the ship. You can say I have been searching a lot the last few years but I found my north star and wake up every day excited like its the first day of school. Off the top of my head here are a few things I am thankful for that I found in 2024 in no particular order
Nicotine: Not a smoker but adding a little throughout the day has made me so productive. A simple 3 mg dose all year once or twice a day gets my creative juices flowing and my brain in positive mode. Doesn’t hurt it reduces my appetite. OZynpec
Creatine: I’ve known about it for years and like nicotine wasn’t sure if it was harmful. This, nicotine,and caffeine are probably the most researched drugs in history. I’ve added 7 mg to my daily diet and my soreness, muscle growth, and recovery have shown huge increases in 2024. Wish I would have done this years ago
Cottage Cheese: Its become my perfect snack. Its what I mix my creatine in and have it for breakfast or snack. Add a little pineapple or fresh fruit and its a low calorie treat I’ve been looking for
My Mom living next door. Nothing trumps family. She made me who I am and my biggest supporter. I am a little harder on her to keep eating right and exercising than I should but only because I want to share memories for many years to come
Travis: He’s become one of my best friends even though we’ve met in person maybe 3 times in a decade. Always the voice of reason or support. We’ve gone through some tough things in life and I can’t think of anyone I could have met who would have been a better person to talk things out with
Atom: Adding another great place to sell my domains on top of Afternic has changed my financial future. It forced me to get more organized and really evaluate my pricing and strategy. The result is an extra few hundred grand in income I don’t think I would have had without them
Braden PollockThe man has been as supportive of a person as I’ve ever met. His positivity is infectious always says the right things. The kind of people you want in your life. Great advice, always responds and reaches out to say hello for no reason other than to see how your day is going
DomainSherpa: It’s given me a voice and an influence I wouldn’t have had otherwise. Will be forever thankful to Michael Cyger, Drew and JT
Wife Stacey: I’ve said it here plenty. There is no me without her
The Gym: Lifting weights turned out to be the game changer as you age. Makes you stronger in your every day. Things seem easier and for me it gives me a positive add to my running. I’ve realized I’d rather be strong than fast but hoping I don’t have to choose
Weekly Massage: My body needs to be fixed weekly from all the exercise and movement. Massage keeps everything moving smoothly….or better than it was
ChatGPT and AI: Plain and simple it’s made my day more productive and organized. I like to do a lot of my own thinking but when I add AI my thinking becomes more organized and it expands on everything I am trying to do
There are plenty more but these come to mind and can’t wait to find more great things in life in 2025
