If you get tired of this “wisdom” stuff, go ahead and drop down to the domain names today.
As I’ve become older, I have learned what to do with this thing called life that has been handed to me over the years. Bad things are going to happen. Tough choices. Suffering where you had no control and didn’t deserve it. Pain and tears. It is life. Your only control is to make good choices and put yourself in positions where there is less of these. Yet even then, it will come. It is inevitable.
If you haven’t listened to Anderson Cooper’s podcast on grief, it’s a must listen. It’s not an easy listen, but there are things in there that are literally the keys to life.
Grief and pain are the pathway to joy and laughter. Compartmentalizing bad moments and events doesn’t allow you to feel what you need to feel to understand and truly appreciate joy. I only know how much I love my wife and how special our relationship is because of the heartbreaks of the past.
You can’t dull one side of emotion without dulling the other. It is an incredibly difficult concept to grasp, especially if you’re younger and you haven’t seen many lights at the end of tunnels. Pain and despair block hope and anticipation. For most, it’s temporary. For others, it becomes depression.
Where my age comes in is the ability to know there is love and laughter ahead of even the worst of times. My bad days become anticipation and preparation for a good one. A good one becomes a celebration of that day. Every good and bad moment becomes a story, and often the bad moments become the best memories and stories I have.
I have told my daughter since she was born to jump in. Jump in, and if she has a great time or wins, then she will have had a good experience. If she crashes and burns, she now has a great memory and story for life.
I write this not because I am going through something, but in case you are. Life is exciting and challenging. The ups and downs are what builds your soul. Incredible is a word that can be an adjective for both the good and bad events, but if that word is used, it also means it’s memorable. I live for memorable.
Because I am at the point of life where I have more memories than I do days ahead. So they are extremely important. I only have them because of the acknowledgement of their importance at the time. Remembering the bad times so I could appreciate the good times. Celebrating the good times with gratitude and celebration. Even on a daily basis.
Quote of the Day: “In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” -Albert Camus

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.* All names chosen by us. (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.

Thanks Shane! I am going to listen to his podcast. Appreciate you sharing your wisdom!
