I’ve been converting my plant sites (Heucheras.com and Spireas.com) to a new pinterest style theme that Tia Wood and I came up with. It’s a work in progress but it’s certainly drawing more pageviews and picture oriented. It also gives users a format they’re used to. We’ll see how the monetize. I certainly have enough photos and information to do lots of these types of sites. Let me know what you think and if you have any ideas. (other than I need to add more data, get my logos, and clean it up) Here are today’s names and the daily quote.

Nice looking sites. Two comments on the images — take my comments with a grain of salt…..I’ve shared my SEO failings with you:
1. don’t forget the alt text
2. some seem to be pretty small. “Spirea japonica Double Play™ Big Bang”, for example. Everyone has a different theory……some say 320×320 is the minimum size to optimize for Google Images.

I actually had plans to go back and enter alt text for all the pictures. Great advice. And I agree. Pictures are what visitors are coming to see so I need to make them big and good quality
I notice a lot of people on FaceBook spend time on Pinterest. Maybe its due to the visual aspect of it. Perhaps, when FaceBook redoes search with Bing it all comes together somehow.
