I just finished my taxes up (almost finished) and I am going to have to say it was a great year. A year that my little hobby turned the corner. I think I am finally doing it right. I have a pretty good understanding of what names sell and what names will give a good return in the future if I hold. I hope this year proves the same. Here are today’s names and the daily quote.
“The reason a lot of people do not recognize opportunity is because it usually goes around wearing overalls looking like hard work” -Thomas Edison
HandSurgeon.com Most of my friends are doctors and recently they have begun to concentrate on marketing themselves instead of their hospital. These are the kinds of domains that will help. 17 years old
SimpleGifts.com Are better than no thought big gifts…..sometimes. 16 years old
PTVE.com 14 years old. The TV in the middle
OnlineVegetarian.com 11 years old. No bidder. Good blog or site name for $12
GetGrants.org No bidders . Perfect for the dot org. 1000 monthly searches
Protectify.com Not a real world but a good brand
FijiVacationRentals.com IMO a great deal at under $25. Lots of ads for these keywords
$3.99 .COM and Free Private Registration from GoDaddy.com!
RainStar.com 17 years old. Google it and you’ll see lots of businesses and places have this name
SHCM.com All good letters and the number of bids show that others like it as well
FarmingLoans.com Farmers love to play poor
HairLand.com I have been slowly leaving this place over the last 5 years
Here is a code that’s good for $2.95 transfer or new registration gtnggrow01
Congrats on the great year!
Btw, I think I dropped HairLand.com a few years back – highly overrated. 🙂
Very well done on your success Shane!
I haven’t reached that place yet and with respect, I don’t see how you do it with a lot of the names you include in your dropping lists, but that’s not your concern. It clearly works for you!
Don’t hate, congratulate. So the saying goes!
Leon,
If I had to make a living on the Godaddy names I would starve, especially lately. I buy names privately and many on Namejet where other private sellers are mixed in. The Godaddy names are value picks. Not a ton of money to made with most of them but a few extra dollars. And I have some built out sites, this blog, parking, and a few other irons in the fire. It all adds up
Congrats Shane! Tax time is always an exciting time. I am glad that I kept receipts from all the conferences, etc…Completing taxes for us Domainers seems to be a bit complex because of all of the wheeling and dealing. I am seriously thinking of incorporating my domain/web properties business.
Good work Shane, hope the sun shines for the season.
Shane,
Congrats on the success. I learn from you and your blog every day.
