I was asked what I thought about the values of LLLL.coms and how they’ve moved over the last year or so. In my opinion, compared to numerics and other short domains, they have not joined in. But the “better letter” LLLL.coms have increased 20% (very rough guess) in the last 18 months. To me they will always be some of the most liquid and solid investment in domain investing. You not only have the chance to have that end user want the name as an acronym but you always have the ability to sell it at auction and get much of your money back. And that’s more true right now than ever. Here are today’s names.
L-A.com These domains are making somewhat of a comeback. 18 years old. Got a bid at $5K
TKSI.com 18 year old LLLL.com Getting a little action
FGoogle.com Surprised this has gotten so high. People really don’t care about trademarks I guess. Just traffic
LittleWalker.com 12 years old. No bidders. Two common words for $12 is a risk I feel comfortable taking.
ProfileDoctor.com Good Facebook and Twitter background design name. A few bidders agree
FCBB.com 11 years old. I’m not sure if it’s a boob fetish but I’ve always liked a capital B. And here I get two
AJC.net C for corporation
CZC.net Good looking domain. If you buy domain for their looks
PopKiss.com A little 2007 sounding of a brand for me. But it still works
MySafeBox.com Sounds like they could hold off a Russian hacker for a few weeks
AWX.net Under $200 at press time
BrainTumors.com Tough name to be positive about. BUT..the reality is people are actively looking for brain tumor information
h2o.info Water is the most precious thing on earth. Behind Lebron James that is

L90.com This is going to do very well. I predict FIRST buys it
A57.com I actually like this one more
TravelSanAntonio.com – 12 years old, no bidders. Maybe you can sell it to Mike Berkens to pair with his TravelDallas.com, or Frank Schilling to pair with his TravelFortWorth.com. $2,300 Estibot.
RecessionProof.com The sign of a good business, investment, or job. If it can make it unscathed through a recession it’s good
FreshCutFlowers.net I just sold freshcutflowers.com on Namejet for $3K so this one has to have SOME value
LVDV.com Las Vegas something
ACDF.com Second most bids on the board today
TheFlame.com My favorite name on today’s list
CAX DOMAIN OF THE DAY: Dolly.com Wonder why Dolly Parton hasn’t purchased this yet. Cheap for her
Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details. *All names chosen by me, Shane, and the goal of this list is to have all links be paid through commission . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct
I pushed “L-A.com” to auction with a $5k bid. I appreciate the mention, by the way. Taking fees and exchange rates into account, I would have barely broken even… so would have been a prime candidate for the “Flops” list, but I would have been OK with that. 🙂
Sadly, upon completion of the auction, I received one of those “Regrettably, we must inform you… We have taken appropriate action against the buyer.” emails that has become a common theme in my inbox these days.
On the plus side, I also received a “Transaction cancelled by Sedo” email regarding a $10k name I was buying, so technically, I made $5k yesterday. That’s how it works, right? 🙂
Seriously though, fake buyers, fake owners, and scammers in general, have been plaguing me a lot more this year than in previous years. I’d like these parasites to be punished more severely, but deep down, I know that it’s never going to happen… unless they could invent a pill to stop a dumbass, crack-smoking scammer from being a dumbass, crack-smoking scammer.
That would be quite the pill, Shane. 🙂
I’m holding a spot for you on the “Flips” list in the future now that L-A.com didn’t go through for you.
