Below is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with recent data courtesy of DN Journal and historical data from NameBio.
Flips
- Winko.com – Sold recently for $6,500 at Sedo, vs $3,102 in 2013 at NameJet. You can see their site below, and according to a Google translation of their Croatian language site, “Finder Winko is an ideal meeting place for supply and demand. It does not matter whether you are looking for a single piece of galvanized screws for roofing or looking for the nearest master to repair the digital receiver to your grandmother still could freely follow their favorite series. At Wink we have everything. Browse companies between 200,000 and 80,000 trades that offer 2.34 million products and over 50,000 services. Send inquiries to one or more vendors. If you get stuck, do not worry, we have customer service that is available.”
- ElectricDrive.com – Sold recently for $4,999 at Sedo, vs $810 in August 2014 at NameJet. The domain currently redirects to GesellschaftsrechtSkanzlei.com, a law firm’s site.
- GoldBit.com – Sold recently for $6,250 by Logan Flatt, vs only $110 in 2013 at NameJet. A nice 55x return. “GoldBit provides global digital payments back by the security of Gold.” Screenshot below.
These coin types of domains were discussed recently in Shane’s look back at 2014 trends, and look forward with 2015 predictions.
Flops
- No flops to be found this week…….
Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
