Murt.com sold for 2,900 USD recently at NameJet, vs 845 USD on 2015-06-08 at NameJet. Solid 3x return after commission in just over a year when buying & selling on the same domainer platform.
Quiz.us sold for 7,250 USD recently at Sedo, vs 650 USD on 2007-04-25 at Afternic. You don’t often see .us sales this high. Whois shows the name still in transfer.
Mutually.com sold for 5,000 USD recently at Flippa, vs 741 USD on 2016-01-10 at NameJet. Excellent 6x return after commission in less than 9 months.
NetHoster.com sold for 2,833 USD recently at Sedo, vs 100 USD on 2011-04-03 at NameJet. A 5 year hold paid off with a 24x return.
Y25.com sold for 2,808 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 510 USD on 2011-05-03 at Sedo.
Gek.nl sold for 4,113 USD recently at Sedo, vs 1,800 USD on 2011-02-01 at Sedo. Forwards to Gek.media, a screenshot of which is below. Per Google Translate, “we form a creative yet technical media company that develops great projects for entertaining clients. You can contact us for your branding, your website, an app, advice or just a cup of coffee!“
Flops
SEO-Service.com sold for 640 USD recently at Flippa, vs 2,500 USD on 2011-10-12 at Afternic. Would you buy SEO services from a firm that had a hyphen in their domain?
OurCoin.com sold for 1,001 USD recently at NameJet, vs 885 USD on 2016-05-22 at GoDaddy. Looks like a nice quick flip until you factor in commissions….then it’s a money loser, without taking into consideration your time.
BetCool.com sold for 870 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 1,325 USD on 2015-08-21 at GoDaddy. Bad bet….loss of nearly 50% after commission in a year.
FancyBid.com sold for 605 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 2,800 USD on 2014-04-09 at GoDaddy. They got a little too fancy on the buy-side.
Random.co sold for 304 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 9,999 USD on 2014-02-02 at Afternic. The first of several .co domains that sold at big losses this past week.
Mission.co sold for 504 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 4,000 USD on 2014-09-17 at Sedo.
Exceed.co sold for 400 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 1,570 USD on 2012-06-27 at Sedo.
Overhaulin.com sold for 445 USD recently at NameJet, vs 2,102 USD on 2012-08-25 at NameJet. If it was a domain investor behind this loss, their investing strategy needs an overhauling.
Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
