Over the last couple of months I’ve really gotten behind on my Godaddy renewals. A couple people have reached out to remind me, “hey jackass your LLLL com is going to auction” and I really appreciate that. I got really behind and was pushing the date back before I’d renew the domains.
I used to have everything on auto renew, but that got crazy when I’d have a thousand $ bill I wasn’t expecting full of a lot of crap I never meant to renew. My Godaddy rep’s were always good at deleting stuff I didn’t want as long it was within a few days, but I turned off the auto renew, so I was less of a pain in the ass.
I still miss stuff and have to transfer it out at the last minute, and I’m so unorganized I’ll see names on the expired list, think “hey that’s a good one” only to later find out that I already own it. So if I list any names on here that I own myself it’s not intentional, it’s just that I’m “special”.
I booked my flight for NamesCon today. I ended up going with Spirit, initially not because it was the lowest price, but because it was the only non-stop flight from Philly with the best times.
As it turns out it was the lowest base price flight, which is really a total scam. They charge you for everything, carry on, check bag, choosing your seat, the bathrooms are like vending machines you have to swipe a credit card to open the door, then once again for toilet paper. I paid an extra $60 each way for seat in what other airlines call first class, it seemed like a really good deal to me since half the other seats were $18 extra anyway.
Remember Trooper Landon Weaver and his family. 23 years of age and he was shot and killed while responding to a domestic disturbance.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
Shane,
Was reading your post.
As far as renewals go on the fist of each month I make it a point to set an hour or two aside to filter all the domains to be renewed, create a list of those names and reference them against my parking and lead stats. If the names paid for themselves and/or received leads than I’ll automatically set those aside and renew. I’ll then go through quickly and eliminate the names that are obvious junk. I also use services such as DomainIndex to better filter the higher value names out. This usually eliminates about 40% of what I need to do pretty quickly, the remainder require closer attention but I get it out of the way.
At first I hated having to sit down and do this each month but it really helps me budget, I have a better idea of how much I’ll be paying each month and factor it into monthly costs, this way I dread the process much less and my time is freed up. I don’t worry about renewals anymore it’s a God send. What’s more my rep greatly appreciates it 😉
Hope it helps!
John D.
