Before the domains, a couple quick pictures from a trail run yesterday among the hoodoos in Bryce Canyon National Park. There are some amazing landscapes on the annual pilgrimage from Denver to NamesCon. I’m spending some time in Zion National Park today before hopefully making it to Vegas in time for dinner, where the scenery won’t be as good (sorry guys), but I’m looking forward to the conversation.

Flips
Detergents.com sold recently for 6,244 USD at Sedo, vs 2,250 USD on 2017-12-18 at NameJet. A very nice flip in a month…around 2.3x after commission….bought at NameJet and then sold at last week’s Sedo Great Domains auction.
NCAI.com sold for 6,000 USD recently at NameJet, vs 2,544 USD on 2017-03-06 at NameJet. The first of a few LLLL.com domains which were sold profitably on domainer platforms with less than a year hold. All were 2x or greater before commission.
QTYL.com sold for 2,710 USD recently at NameJet, vs 1,361 USD on 2017-02-12 at DropCatch.
HIRB.com sold for 2,056 USD recently at Flippa, vs 511 USD on 2017-12-05 at NameJet.
The.club sold for 300,000 USD recently at Brandaisy, vs 19,000 USD on 2015-11-01 at RightOfTheDot. Heck of a sale, and the buyer is under privacy protection, but you can see a screenshot of the site below. A home / asset swapping service is live, touted to include 2,000+ homes, 200+ yachts, 150+ private jets, and more. “Your vacation home can’t travel the world. But with The.Club, it’s your ticket to travel anywhere you want to go. The sun-soaked beaches of Kilauea. The rolling hills of Sonoma. A flat overlooking the streets of Paris. A secluded island in the South Pacific.” The founder is stated to be Henry Parry-Okeden, who appears to be one of the founders of vacation rental company InvitedHome.com, the son of a billionaire, and a board member of Cox Communications, among other things.
What does this sale make TheClub.com worth? I have no idea……but that domain is used to promote the auto anti-theft device.
Flops
Cell.co.uk sold for 2,568 USD recently at Sedo, vs 5,200 USD on 2007-10-03 at Sedo. I’m not sure if it’s the keyword or the extension which caused this drop in value; maybe both.
FixAmerica.com sold for 526 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 2,500 USD on 2013-05-08 at Sedo. Since Trump tells us he has already fixed everything, this domain clearly isn’t needed anymore……
UUCU.com sold for 480 USD recently at NameJet, vs 1,502 USD on 2017-11-22 at NameJet. A very quick flop, on the same platform….a loss over 67% in just a couple months.
Snowmobiles.net sold for 465 USD on 2018-01-24 at NameJet, vs 3,433 USD on 2009-07-08 at NameJet. This is just one of many examples of .net domains which have dropped significantly in value over the past decade.
i-marketing.com sold for 133 USD recently at NameJet, vs 646 USD on 2005-12-20 at SnapNames. Heck of a long time between sales…….double negative whammy of an “i” name and a hyphenated name = a loser in this case.
Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
