Domain Flips (SXP.com, NVL.com, BlowDryer.com) and Flops (CityFest.com, WineClubs.net) from NameBio

Below is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with data courtesy of NameBio.

Flips

Exklusiv.com sold for 10,440 USD recently at Sedo, vs 601 USD on 2010-01-12 at NameJet. “Exclusive” in German. The domain is currently forwarded to the developed, German-language job board at JobBörse.com.

NVL.com sold for 12,600 USD recently at Flippa, vs 7,531 USD less than two months ago at Sedo. No big surprise to see a trifecta of LLL.com domains in the profitable flip category…..two more below.

SXP.com sold for 17,000 USD recently at Sedo, vs 8,100 USD on 2008-01-16 at Sedo.

VKZ.com sold for 9,999 USD recently at Sedo, vs 6,387 USD on 2013-12-23 at NameJet.

FBET.com sold for 12,099 USD recently at Sedo, vs 1,250 USD on 2007-11-25 at Sedo.

33z.com sold for 4,220 USD recently at NameJet, vs 3,350 USD on 2014-02-10 at GoDaddy.

AmazingReviews.com sold for 3,200 USD recently at Flippa, vs only 115 USD two months ago at GoDaddy. There have been more and more of these profitable, quick flips via Flippa over the last couple months.

UsedGadgets.com sold for 2,600 USD recently at Flippa, vs 717 USD two months ago at GoDaddy. Example #2 this week of the quick Flippa flip.

BlowDryer.com sold for 8,400 USD recently at Flippa, vs 3,500 USD two months ago at NameJet. Example #3 this week of the quick Flippa flip. This one isn’t as high of a percentage return, but it’s better in gross dollars. I’ll take any of the three…….but you can’t just sit on your hands to get these results….you actually have to make a few buys and then take the time to get them listed.

DigitalGraphic.com sold for 1,499 USD recently at Flippa, vs 197 USD on 2014-12-22 at GoDaddy. This one is a longer hold prior to the Flippa flip, at least compared to the three above — a whole 4 months! I believe the owner bought a banner at Domaining.com to give this domain a little more exposure and then it sold at the BIN. Looks to be nearly a $1,000 profit after commission and a Domaining.com banner. Opportunity abounds.

Flops

MagicMarket.com sold for 898 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 4,888 USD on 2013-03-04 at Afternic.

CityFest.com sold for 898 USD recently at NameJet, vs 3,100 USD on 2006-11-07 in a private transaction.

595.org sold for 651 USD recently at NameJet, vs 725 USD on 2008-02-24 at Sedo. The numeric .org’s just haven’t tracked the same sort of inflation as the numeric .com and even .net domains.

ChineseVoice.com sold for 200 USD recently at NameJet, vs 1,000 USD on 2011-01-06 at Sedo.

WineClubs.net sold for 106 USD recently at Flippa, vs 1,950 USD on 2011-02-02 at Sedo. Wine.club sells for $140,000 at NamesCon this year, while WineClubs.net sells for $106? Interesting times….

Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
