Below is another look at a few recent domain flips and flops, with data courtesy of NameBio.
Flips
HHNH.com sold for 2,050 USD recently at Flippa, vs 475 USD on 2011-07-07 at GoDaddy. The first of a couple profitable LLLL.com sales; they didn’t make nearly as much as they would have 6 months ago, but they’re still in the black.
TYFK.com sold for 1,007 USD recently at 4.CN, vs 100 USD on 2014-11-30 at GoDaddy.
DealHunt.com sold for 3,550 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 1,000 USD on 2007-01-22 at Afternic. A long hold, but 3.5x before commission.
CloudMigration.com sold for 7,600 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 3,790 USD on 2012-06-20 at Sedo.
EuVida.com sold for 5,685 USD recently at Sedo, vs 147 USD on 2008-01-14 at Sedo. This may (?) translate to ‘good life’. A couple extensions are developed; the domain is currently parked.
Flops
Implicitly.com sold for 107 USD recently at NameJet, vs 6,000 USD on 2012-08-26 at Afternic. Nearly 100% loss. Implicit.ly is developed, but that doesn’t mean that they necessarily want this domain.
UsedGadgets.com sold for 1,100 USD recently at NameJet, vs 2,600 USD on 2015-04-03 at Flippa.
StockCenter.com sold for 2,959 USD recently at GoDaddy, vs 3,500 USD on 2009-10-14 at Afternic.
8wf.com sold for 1,020 USD recently at NameJet, vs 1,708 USD on 2016-02-25 at GoDaddy. Surprised to see this significant of a loss on a CCC.com with a leading 8.
ProfitBlogger.com sold for 415 USD recently at NameJet, vs 1,600 USD on 2011-03-16 at Sedo.
PerfectMenu.com sold for 363 USD recently at NameJet, vs 3,000 USD on 2012-01-04 at Afternic. Based on the screenshot below from a couple years back, you can see the business they had in mind, but things must not have panned out.
Note: I didn’t do an exhaustive search of the ownership history of each domain. There are likely cases where there were multiple owners between the sales prices I list.
