So my Dad has this bird. Not just any bird, it’s blue and yellow Macaw. He got him 20 years ago when his owner was having trouble with him talking too much and driving his kids crazy. Dad had never had a bid before but somehow he decided he was a bid whisperer and would take on fowl. So “Kiwi” came to stay at the nursery. I fucking hated this thing. He sat on his roost and every time I would walk by me he would bite me right on the elbow. And it hurt. I don’t know if you have ever been bitten by a macaw but its pretty fierce. To get him back I would run my fingers along is cage and make a rattling noise. You might think that I was being cruel to animals but I promise you this bird started all of it. I was nothing but nice to him from day one.
I knew he had bitten people before because he yells “Ouch” real loud. And that was as I entered the room. Way before he even bit me. I would come around the corner forgetting Kiwi was there and the hear a loud “Ouch” . Instantly I knew I was about to be attacked. I had had enough so I asked my Dad to take him home. And that’s where he stays to this day. I don’t see him very often because he hangs out with my Dad the whole time and my Dad likes to hang out in Naples Florida when he gets a chance. But when I do. He absolutely remembers me. He acts like we’re all friendly when my Dad and family are all in the room. When everyone leaves he practically whispers in my ear “I remember you motherfucka” . And then tries to bite my ear off.
The big problem is this bird is going to live longer than me. They can live to be 90. I don’t want it. I told my Dad that he needs to start thinking about who he is going to give this evil bird to. And that whoever he gives it to be prepared for that person to come spit on his grave. I’m not sure who that person is going to be but it shouldn’t be hard finding them because they will missing the tips of all their fingers and the lobes of their ears. Here are today’s names.
