If you want to see a textbook case of what happens to your business when you let a negative culture develop, look at Namepros. Namepros staff is made up of some great people. Eric and James do a great job. But in 2016 a few individuals started harassing certain posters and creating an us vs them culture at the site. To the point that the negativity at the site drove all the content creators away from the site. They just didn’t want to be attacked every time they posted. Even long time user Raymond Hackney started to feel that the live chats and forums had gotten a little ugly. Things have since been rectified and a few people were kicked out of the forum but it hasn’t recovered. I don’t have traffic numbers but I guarantee its down. I can’t guarantee it because they are actually up.My apologies Because so many influencers left the conversation it just isn’t what it was. And the cycle continues. Because the conversation isn’t interesting people don’t go daily anymore and the conversation diminishes even further. Again, its not for the lack of hard work of the moderators and staff. It just happened and what’s done is done.
It’s a reminder for all business owners how important it is to rid the bad apples before they spoil the bunch. Its why the saying even exists. Because they will. Negativity is a pile on and it wreaks havoc and moves on. Leaving the leftovers behind. Things don’t all have to be rainbows and unicorns. But lack of transparency and control will always open things up for problems. There is no way to control shadows. Nobody wants to enter a room with shadows and uncertainty except on Halloween. Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
I swear, I only pick names with dates AFTER the air date of the show. I have no idea what happens in between! 😫
I think they can still be renewed or transferred until the completion of the auction, or single bid pre-release. I assume Sal’s was renewed, since it’s sitting at a high bid of $200 and in the “wish list” category.
I was on namepros everyday in 2016, who harassed who? I didn’t notice it.
John. Glad you had a good experience on Namepros.

In regards to NamePros traffic and use:

Thank you for the comment Eric. Your stats prove me wrong.
I love Namepros and have never been attacked. Bloggers have to have a thicker skin because they’re in the public eye and prone to criticism.
This post comes across as an exaggeration. There are countless content creators on Namepros: Michael Gilmour, Raymond Hackney, Ron Jackson, so on… I know one or two stopped posting but “drove all the content creators away” is insulting to the majority that are still there, your fellow bloggers.
DSAD is one of my favorite blogs… I read every article and wish you would post there again because your witty posts were a highlight.
Jonathan,
I appreciate the comment. Other than Raymond, who are the bloggers that participate each day again? We all respond to things relating to us but when is the last time a blogger started a thread? Again, I’m not saying bloggers are special. Anyone can blog. And all my posts are exaggeration.
I’ve never seen bloggers participate daily on a forum… don’t they have their own businesses and blogs to write for? I commented on when you said they all were drove away.
Shane why do I have to reload this post multi-times for new comments to show up? Your reply wasn’t showing until I held the refresh button. Travis, help!
Shane I tried giving links but your spam filters is probably blocking them.
I don’t see them. Yes. the are probably buried deep in the spam
