Somebody asked me if I could do anything I wanted for a living what would I do? I answered “the exact same thing I’m doing now, just less hours” It’s a bit cliche of an answer. Of course if I had to start over I may try something else. But if I had to make that choice now based on my past that would be my answer.
I have been blessed, or earned, the ability to do a lot of different things for a living. I love plants and I love domains. Retail is a tough business. Unfortunately I’m pretty good at it. Fortunately I’m in retail where the product is not shippable and we create our own product so the margins are great. Regardless of how many employees I add or how many layers I try and put in between me and the customer, they seem to find me. They hunt experience and answers and it seems to lead to me. I’m not helping my case by doing a TV show answering gardening questions every Thursday night. Friday mornings turn in “Ask the expert” on the phone. But I do like it. Like all people that build a small business into a big one, I just wish I could do more of the stuff that I used to do when there weren’t so many customers. Of course, I didn’t make much money either so there is a trade off.
I love domains because I can do it when I want, where I want. All I need is a Internet connection. Doing this list 5 nights a week is a lot of work. Its 2 to 3 hours of scanning when I could be watching TV, doing other things domaining, or working on my websites. But I like doing the post and it pays. Keeps me with cash flow to continue feeding the portfolio. Because the journey of buying and selling the names is the exciting part. The profits are just a way of keeping score.
On a different note. Some great bids on today’s names. More four figure bids than we’ve seen on one list in several months. See if you can even figure out which names are the four figure names. Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
