Domain Shane’s Daily List of Domains at Auction for Friday February 17th

Escrow.com

One of the mantra’s I live by is “Don’t let making a living get in the way of making a life”  It’s a saying from the great basketball coach John Wooden and its something I have to think about all the time.  I have a constant internal struggle of wanting to just leave and see the world and the desire to make enough money so someday I can hike and see the world.  I have been trying to do both.  I climbed Mt. Rainer and ran from Mt. Hood to the ocean.  I hiked through the jungles of Hawaii to see some of the most beautiful views in the world.  And I drove through Wisconsin which is far more beautiful than I ever realized.  That was last year and I still managed to work more than most people that never leave.  I hope to do a lot more in the future and the big event coming up decides exactly how it all goes down.  The kids and their college.  I have only one.  But that one could cost $300,000 to send to school. Actually more because she wants to get her doctorate.  As I’ve mentioned before she will get some sort of scholarship but that depends on where she chooses to run.  If she picks Harvard they don’t give scholarships.  She could run at a lesser school and get a full ride.  Once that big decision is made I then will know where I set up my next base.  Could be Colorado.  Could be Hawaii.  Could be North Carolina.  And I can’t wait to find out.  Then again, a few big domain sales and I’ll just pay cash 🙂 Here are today’s names.  Click the links for current price

PS:  Congrats to Van Dukeman my Urbana neighbor who’s dog Rumor just won Best in Show at the Westminster Dog Show this weekend.   Urbana representing

  1. Funny you said that about Wisconsin. We had the same thing. We went to the dells last August. Took county roads to go to house on the rock and the cave. Beautiful driving and deer standing next to fields of corn munching.

  2. “If she picks Harvard they don’t give scholarships.”

Harvard does give scholarships. But, it depends on financial need and which school at Harvard.

See. You make too much from the domain business and the blog. 🙂

Harvard endowment fund is more than some countries GDP.
I think it is over $ 36 billion.

    1. Meyer,

Yes, they are very helpful under $250K total income as a family. We haven’t gotten that far but you are right, they are helpful in making sure all that are accepted to Harvard are charged at a rate they think the family can afford.

    1. Anthony,

Yes I totally missed this angle. Shows how many “BIG” things there are in the world that those outside that country or area have no idea how big.
