Nobody has really said this in the blogs but there seems to be something going on that hasn’t been announced. One, I don’t see Oliver Holger’s names up at Namejet anymore. That’s a pretty big portfolio to be dropped. It’s pretty noticeable if you are a short name buyer. Because private inventory is WAY down the last few days. Second, HKDN seems to be closed or halted. I haven’t seen that account bidding anywhere. If it is a legit bidder then there was no reason to remove it…..unless… Don’t take this as fact. It’s what I see. If you see the same thing put it in the comments.
I think this is a GREAT time to put your private names up at Namejet right now. You will get plenty of attention right now. Of course they have to be decent names. If you are new it may also be a good time to introduce yourself to Namejet and see if you can sell on the platform. Again, has to be decent names. I for one am glad to see action. In the long run, an environment where everyone is playing the same game is good for the platform. Even if a couple of the cars have to be taken off of the road to success. Here are today’s names. Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
I said that on NP, that I couldn’t see hkdn or Oliver on NameJet.
Glad that they looked into it.
Thanks for update Shane. On NamePros a member suggested 50% of auctions seem to have less bids. Not sure if that is accurate.
It all comes back to this question. Why did it take a NamePros thread for the domain community to educate many of us that NJ technology allowed bidding on own name?
You mentioned apparent shill bidding, Konstantinos did, but nobody was able to put the pieces together. Clearly any auction system that has no safeguards against bidding on your own domain will result in malfeasance.
Glad that you feel we are back closer to a level playing field. Hopefully domain investors will continue to think critically to help safeguard our industry going forward.
To their credit HKDN was the high bidder and paid for some auctions we had on NJ. There was some very odd bidding with HKDN though.
Dont worry there will be plenty more on there doing the same thing infact i know it goes on between domain investor friends all the time and not naming names but just think of real big names and you will see where im coming from…also the same with godaddy as well.
