I’m one of those guys that is always looking for ways to keep me sharper. To be able to work longer. To be able to think clearer. I don’t drink or use any medication because I want to see and feel the results so I know what works or doesn’t. The key to it all, exercise and what goes in the body. It’s an amazing difference. To the point where you get pissed that you spent so much time at half speed. It’s proven that exercise increases your memory. Like anything you go overboard and it becomes detrimental. Once I became a morning runner my memory became better and better. I could pull things out quicker than I could before. I originally thought it was because I was up earlier and it takes a few hours to get the mind going. And since I get up at 4:30 I had my brain ready to go before everyone else. I was in full swing when everyone else was getting up. But it became more than that. It lasted all day. And it has gotten better with time.
And then I did something else that changed my day. I drastically reduced the amount of sugar I eat and stopped eating bread. I stopped eating bread because I noticed that when I ate a sub or a sandwich I immediately became flemmy in my mouth and I felt sluggish. I am not gluten free just bread free. Once I dropped it my day didn’t have the peaks and valleys in how I felt. The sugar was something I didn’t notice until I tracked it and realized it was a lot. So I cut it hard and after about a week I can’t tell you how much better I feel. I am hardly ever hungry any more. A little snack of nuts will hold me off for hours. I find myself forcing myself to eat to keep the calories high enough to keep me from losing too much weight and to give me the energy for my physical day.
I am not telling anyone to do any of the above. Just telling your my results. I wasn’t feeling that bad. I didn’t really feel like my mind wasn’t sharp. But once I made the changes I couldn’t believe how it changed my day. I am fully convinced that if you want the best engine you have to feed it the best fuel and drive the hell out of it to get the most out of it. None of this may make me live longer but I can guarantee its making the journey to that final day much more comfortable. Now back to your regular scheduled program about domains. Buy a couple because I have kid going to college soon and it’s not looking cheap. Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
Sugar kills.
A calorie restricted diet has been proven to extend life. Take some resveratrol as well.
Ha, I thought I would see if SugarKills.com was available. Nope, looks like it is being put to good use.
Steve,
Not sure if sugar kills but it sure will mame you 🙂
Quote of the day is a great one.
Travis,
It’s one of my favorites.
Sigh .. I was just about to toast a bagel! :-/
When you say you cut sugar, do you mean added sugar? Or do you avoid things like fruit as well?
Andrew. Added by humans. And I don’t avoid completely. I still love things like ice cream. I just make it a treat and have a “eat this not that” strategy. I eat enough bananas, apples, and cashews to feed a village. I still need 3000-4500 calories to maintain weight
Thanks. I’ve been thinking about trying this, and as long as I can keep some naturally sweet things in my diet I might be able to pull it off.
I agree with the sugar comment, stopped putting it in my daily coffee years ago. I almost never add white sugar to anything anymore, and don’t drink regular pop (43 grams of sugar in a Coke). Breads, muffins, bagels, etc are so high in carbs that I’ve cut back on those too, though not completely. Nuts are a great well rounded snack, it’s too bad cashews are so expensive – it all comes down to a lower carb and higher protein diet as you get older, though the more active you are the more carbs you can handle. Being a teenager was a lot easier when this stuff didn’t matter!
