There is so much good and so much bad that come from crowd investigations. The thread at Namepros has some great info but the other 95% is complete garbage with nothing other than personal guessing and emotion. Garbage that offers nothing to the situation. Yes, everyone should be upset if its proven there was collusion. But I hate all the “I think this guy is bad and this guy associates himself with that guy so he is bad too” At some point we have to trust. But its naive to think most people know what the other does when he/she is not working with you. If they don’t do it in front of you or tell you about it you just don’t know until someone tells you or shows you.
Another thing that bothers me are the people that say one thing and do differently. One person on the thread is saying that our industry is a bunch of asses but he too had a business partner bid on a name he owned. They said it was a case of the partner wanted the name. I say, let the partner buy it from you before you put it up for auction. It is just as wrong as everything we’re talking about. So it bothered me when he blasted the industry and people within as being crooks when the entire thread was based on an action that was similar to what happened with him. Accident or not. Legit or not. It’s exactly what we are talking about. Maybe it was all good and an honest mistake, but its the appearance of impropriety that we are all trying to avoid. I can’t have Josh, Travis, or Aaron bid on my names. Regardless of whether its in the TOS doesn’t matter. It’s the appearance of collusion.
I know that stuff goes on and it doesn’t bother me in small doses. Small doses are almost impossible to stop. What bothers me is in big doses. On large scale. Discussed and managed in advanced to push prices higher. I know that people prop prices up on categories by buying names. 6N, 5N, LLLL.com all are purchased in large quantities by big players to set comparatives. Its a fact. If they are willing to spend their money and buy the name then let them prop all they want. It’s their money. It’s happened in stocks for a century. Those that have large assets to protect will do what it takes to keep prices high. I’m ok with that. The are buying. But selling and forcing others to pay more through collusion is illegal and wrong. Namejet has to fix it. If its proven that people knew and did nothing about it they have to leave. I’m am not saying that this is the case. Only a third party can investigate and give that answer. Its the only answer customers will accept.
But I will continue to buy names during the process. If anything I feel like more eyes are watching. I make a living buying and selling names and Namejet provides me with this ability. It just needs to be cleaned up so we can all continue to buy and sell comfortably. Here are today’s names. Click for most recent price

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. I Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by me, Shane . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything I say is based on my own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or my opinion is correct. I hand choose my names but I am paid to make this list by the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
You make a living buying and selling domains? Every other post you state you do this for extra income. Don’t you make a living from your nursery? I’m so confused.
Sorry Richard. I’ll word it so you are not confused. I make a nice income from domain investing. Enough that it is important to me. Better?
Thank you for the clarification. Please understand that as a reader I can’t read between your lines. I read what you actually write.
You forgot to mention that the guy you’re talking about has been in the industry for 20 years. He would appreciate me mentioning this.
You may want to change your title. Today is Friday, July 21st 2017 ( not Tuesday as your title says) but maybe you are doing a historical look at auctions from Tuesday, July 21st in 2015.
You can tell I’m on vacation . Will change when I get to computer
