Tess Diaz of Media Options, and the new host of DomainSherpa, was nice enough to come see me at the nursery the other day. Despite being in the middle of the country and not much reason to come to Urbana other than the University of Illinois, I have had quite a few people come see me over the years. U of I is almost always the reason they are there but some times they drive 3 hours down from Chicago. In this case Tess had a daughter that was very interested in the Engineering Dept at U of Illinois which is considered one of the best in the world. After hearing her ACT scores and background I would say that Illinois would be lucky to have her.
I love when people get to see my “regular” life. Tess can confirm that I can talk for ever. The plants, the history, how my day goes. How I got to where I am. I think my story is interesting, maybe unique. And telling it at the nursery gives better perspective. It’s also nice to look right into the eyes of someone you never seen in person except at Namescon yet talk to every day. Friendships were meant to be solidified in person. They certainly can develop with distance but it becomes real when you give a hug or a handshake. I wish I could have spent a little more time with them but my daughter had a track meet and I still had work to do. Plus I had already taken up 2 hours just talking.
Anyone who finds themselves in Central Illinois feel free to come by the nursery and I’ll give you the same tour and talk. If you run I’ll even take you out for a run around town. As long as 5 am works. I have stuff to do.
PS: The guy in the picture below is a guy that blast me a couple times in the comment sections of blogs. Every time someone says something bad about me I just look at his picture and imagine that all haters look like him. Somehow it makes me feel better. Here are today’s domains. Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good
Just from the few shows I’ve seen with Tess as host, I bet you guys had a great time! How did Tess fare on the 5am run…?
She kept a great pace 🙂
I’ll come down and have coffee with you sometime…we both have the same busy season so we’ll find a slow time 🙂
Deal
Although Domain Sherpa can be extremely informative .. I think the biggest reason I listen is because there are moments when it can be extremely funny with some of the side stories and side comments. Drew’s Uncle Fat Matt is just legendary! Similarly .. at the end of the last review when Tess randomly mentioned she was going out across the country to the middle of nowhere .. and that nowhere ended up being across the street from you .. had me in stitches. I almost exclusively listen to Sherpa while outside walking Steamie or walking to/from work .. sometimes people (or Steamie) look at me like I’m nuts when I start laughing for seemingly no reason while walking down the street/path. So thanks to all of you for the laughs! 🙂
