Our town of 150,000 is doing 15,000 COVID tests PER DAY. Students and faculty at the University of Illinois get tested ever 3 days using the university developed saliva test that takes 4 hours to get results. For everyone else we can get it when we need it and most of us get it every 2 weeks or if we go out of town. That test takes 7-8 hours.
It is showing that testing works. Regardless of how many test positive in the beginning of testing, it heavily reduces infection because everyone that is infected knows they are infected and stay at home. The spread is caused by people that don’t know. If testing is easy and fast then this stops. We just had 50,000 students come back and there were hundreds of positives the first week. That will definitely come down because they are tested so heavily. They are also required to have a phone app that will only let them in campus buildings if they are negative. I sounds crazy but it keeps a person with COVID out of the classrooms. It also gives peace of mind to those that do attend classes in person.
The results are positive so far. No hospitalizations for students or faculty and I don’t think we’ve had more than 10 COVID patients at once in any hospital. The only weak link are the anti COVID people who refuse to participate in the testing. Think it against their freedoms. They continue to have large family get togethers. I saw a farmer with a wedding out on the farm with more than 100 people. Not a mask or a test to be found. They are the hole in the plan but I think that there are enough people testing in our town we’ll be able to work around them. I wonder how many other towns over 100,000 test 15,000 people a day.

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
That’s some good municipal leadership, right there. Glad reason is winning out. You guys stay well over there.
