There has been a name on my list the last few days, Zurdy.com. It was an experiment I was trying. Ed Emery @branddrip had it listed on Twitter via Afternic for $79. I always talk about pronounceable 5Ls all being worth more than $100 in my opinion and if I see one I usually buy it. So I bought it via Afternic like he was offering and after renewal it was $87. I thought it was worth double what I paid so I immediately put it on Godaddy auctions and see if I was correct.
I do have an advantage to point out names via my list so I don’t pretend that everyone can do it. But once it gets a few bids at $20 it will pretty much get picked up and start moving if it has value. This one did pretty much what I expected and finished at $230. Take out my $46 for commissions and you get $184 and take out my $87 I paid and I take home $97. I realize $97 isn’t a great amount of money to some but its pretty good money for 15 minutes work. And I think its scalable. I hunted some closeouts to do the same thing and its been pretty successful with an average of about $50 profit per day over the last few weeks. Can I scale it and keep it going all year. I’m going to figure that out in 2020. Like all things domain investing, the key will be inventory and finding names that can be scalped.
I normally wouldn’t mess with quick flips but with the Godaddy commissions plummeting this past year I have to add something to the mix to keep my writing and domain habit going. I think this may be the answer. Of course I’ll keep you informed.
Quote of the Day: “One of the hardest things you will ever have to do is grieve the loss of a person who is still alive.” – Mike Wazowski
Domain of the Day: Trademarker.com This is where proper Camel Casing comes in. TradeMarker is how my program made it look and I was thinking why would I trade markers? But trademarks on the other hand…good business model

Have a name at auction and need more exposure? Send me an email. We Charge $10 per name per day. We may be able to help. If you have an auction you want to promote, email us for details.*All names chosen by us, Shane and Josh . (ie you click through and purchase a name you like) or an occasional paid listing. Everything we say is based on our own research or is opinion. Do your own due diligence. That means look it up yourself if you don’t think the stats or our opinion is correct. We hand choose the names but we are paid to make this list by both the auction houses, individuals that are auctioning names, and Godaddy affiliate links. Keep that in mind and only buy names that YOU think are good.
