I wanted to send a special thank to fellow domain investor Alan Dunn. I know he probably would rather I don’t post this publicly but I feel the need to show what a great guy he is. I had a bunch of packages delivered to the nursery yesterday and I knew what most of them were. But there was one giant box I had no idea who it was from. When I opened it up I found this
30 Soccer balls and tons of pumps and needles for the kids in Kenya. And not cheap soccer balls but good quality balls that will last for years. And he remembered that the needles to fill them up are like Gold in Kenya. Very hard to get. So many balls are flat because they can’t find a needle to pump them up. Something as simple as a soccer ball is going to make a kids day, week, month. And 30 teams are going to have Alan to thank. He had already given a large donation and I was so grateful for that. The soccer balls were a whole other level of thought. That being said, I am am now at my max for carrying anything over. Shipping is next to impossible so I have to carry everything and I have quite a bit with the balls. I will buy everything else in Nairobi and carry it from there. So many thanks to Alan and his amazing generosity. And thanks to all that gave. I promise it will come back in so many ways.
On a similar note. Many of you know that this is a Christian mission that I am doing. I wanted to make sure that while I am a Christian, I am a believer that all humans should be respected and treated fairly regardless of faith. I believe no faith is better than another and I admire anyone who has faith that leads them in their journey. I have mine and I don’t mind telling people what it has done for me. But that is the extent. I am no judge. I’ll leave that to others. I can only tell you of my experience and let you make your own decisions. Many things, including God have led me to where I am and how I approach things. My goal is to be good, do good, and hope to set an examples to others of what I believe is a good moral life. Of course I stray (and by stray I don’t mean cheat) . I dirty dance with girls that aren’t my wife at the Playboy mansion at a domain conference. But you get my point. If you think I am going to Kenya to “bible thump” then you are missing the point of my mission. It’s to help others. My God has inspired me and I only hope that you have or find something that inspires you as well. To not mention what inspires me would be to leave out one of the most important points of the story. To not support me because you think my inspiration is a lie or wrong is also doing it injustice. Because good is good, regardless of the motivation. I hope others see this. I promise not to mention religion again. It’s not something I generally discuss publicly but felt the need due to an email saying its too bad I was going for religion and the recent hate speech that was reported about one religion vs another in the domain industry. Both were wrong in their statements and again, I hope that everyone finds that positive driving force in their life and can do their thing. And I hope that their thing has a positive impact on those around them.
